Many Christians also miss the 7th day is also part of the Creation story when God created the Sabbath by resting from his work. Today we take for granted that we have a two day weekend. But in ancient times people worked everyday because they believed people were created to do the dirty work the gods didn't want to do. So when the ancients first heard this it was revolutionary to have a day off, let alone having God taking a day to rest and commanding all creation to do the same.

Another fine lesson. I've often struggled with people who say, "How was all that done in one day?" They are thinking 24 hours. So, I wonder if the Hebrew in Genesis means day, as in 24 hours, or day as in era. Such as "Back in my day." Any informative help?

The Bible answers your questions. God spoke the world into existence. It's hard for us to understand how this could happen because we don't have an understanding of His true power. For us we have to make a plan, assemble the materials and then expend some effort to build something. God speaks and it happens. Later in the Gospels Jesus spoke and people were healed immediately. You must just take God's power by faith. God created our world in 7 literal 24 hour days. Genesis 1:5 NLT God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day. This phrase "evening passed and morning came" appears after each day of creation. The text is making a point that God called or spoke these things into existence in one day, so why would it take long periods of time? That's evolutionary thought creeping into our thinking. Finally, God creates the Sabbath day and He calls it Holy or set apart. The Sabbath was created as a memorial of our creation (think birthday), and as a day that we, His creation, could worship Him and get better acquainted with Him. When we end each week by spending a whole day of rest from our labors and focusing on worship and prayer we are "re-created". I believe that God sat down with Adam and Eve and got acquainted with them and showed them around their beautiful new home on that first Savbath. If you don't already rest on Saturday, the seventh day, I challenge you to try it for yourself. Don't work or think about worldly concerns for one whole day, Friday sundown until Saturday sundown. Spend the whole day with your family worshipping God and then go on a hike in nature and have a picnic. No texts or emails or TV. It will rest your mind and body and get you ready for the new week. It really works!

A ‘Day’ is a conventional meaning to describe a period of time, a 24 h day is a special meaning related only to the sun and earth, and not any other planet. Since the very FIRST DAY the sun and earth were not created yet, the DAY meant the first step of the creation, it could be just a SECOND or thousands of light years, which was difficult for the people to understand. The purpose was to understand that the mighty God is the source of all the creations.

God didn’t make the world in six “days”. The Hebrew word is “yoms”. A yom can mean “any period of time”. A yom can be a second; a yom can be 10-billion years, etc. Read Dennis Prager’s The Rational Bible series to get a verse-by-verse Hebrew interpretation of the five Books of Moses.

So Brandon is saying Moses was not inspired by the Holy Spirit or that parts are wrong. I disagree. The hebrew word raqia is the word used and it is used 17 other times. It does not mean a specfic structure but God creating an expanse. Yes rhe ppl of course had a primarive concept but the scriptures are true and accurate. Brandon's liberal view is dangerous as then ppl can throw out parts of the Bible. There is nothing scientifically inaccurate with the general statement of an expanse. Brandon I understand how you got to the conclusions you did and certainly there is a deeper meaning to events recorded in scripture but to step away from the simple truth of the words because the world of human wisdom or 'modern science' appears to observably contradict what God has said even to falsify the Bible as a creation account is a big mistake. Your problem is you don't understand the science you think gives you no alternative. Let me say right now the biggest stumbling block to Christians reading the Bible as God's word is the *STARS!* The vast number and size and the known fundamentally constant speed of light looks so final concerning the age of the universe which clearly does not fit the 6000 year history recorded in the Bible. *Well I can tell you and your listeners here it is not the Bible that has the problem! It is human secular, naturalistic, materialistic and frankly atheistic science that has the problem.* It was the elites of academia that are responsible for hiding the truth after 1900 that turned science into _"scientism"_ that had as its principle axiom the *rejection of the God of the Bible!* It started after Ludwig Boltzmann discovered the true meaning of ENTROPY (measure of disorder) and the growing influence of naturalism after Darwin's theory of evolution 1859 began taking hold so they had to hide the truth about entropy and still do and why it is the most confused word in science today. But that is another subject I must now talk about why we know the *heavens declare the glory of God!* And why the Genesis account is better _"scientifically"_ than any other theory from human worldly wisdom which God promises to destroy, 1Cor 1. What I am about to show you and all your followers cannot be found anywhere else. It is new and was revealed to me by God after many years of seeking his answer to this problem which divides the church. We can be sure the *Bride of Christ will not be divided over God's word* also God has said _"he has made it plain"_ Rom 1, therefore there will not be any observation of the universe around us regardless of the age or sophistication of our technology or knowledge of it that will verifiably contradict the truth of the Bible starting at page one. This was one reason we lost our young people in the sixties! In the US survey called 'Exodus' 60% of young people said they left the church because _"they no longer believed the message."_ And the church was *SILENT* because the tentacles of naturalism had got there first. Please read this carefully and understand we are no longer to be just _"apologists"_ but *polemicists!* 2 Cor 10:5, Is 54:17. First you must understand science must separate the creation of the Earth from the creation of the distant Stars just as the Bible does. Second science must apply two solutions to Einstein's equation of relativity [deSitter expansion of space with no mass] and [Schwarzschild's solution with mass]. They fail on both accounts because the big bang requires both to act at the same time and this is impossible! That is why you will find on Wikipedia (atheist encyclopaedia) they attempt to combine the two into one and it is an absolute mess as well as a LIE! Known limits to the *AGE OF THE EARTH:* 1. Recession of the moon limit 1.5 billion years 2. Dim young sun limit 0.5 billion years 3. Accumulation of salt in the oceans 62 million years 4. C14 in diamonds and coal 100 thousand years 5. Decay of earths magnetic field 10000 years 6. Blood cells, blood vessels, collagen, proteins in dinosaur bones 6000 years 7. Human population genetics confirms 6000 years maximum *Biblical Creation - RETROSPECTIVE AGE MODEL:* The real problem for physics and cosmology is the origin of matter. Big bang requires all matter to be created in the first 380 million years in a diameter of about 84.6 million light years. To check the validity of Big Bang we need two slutions to Einstein's equation of relativity - Schwarzschild's and deSitter both in 1917 We first calculate the Schwarzschild's radius of the universe at which its total mass M would collapse into a black hole? Mass of universe = 1e80 protons = 1.67e53 Kg Escape velocity = v = √(2GM/r) therefore r = 2GM/v^2 Substitute M = 1.67e53 and v = 3e8 m/sec (speed of light) *Minimum dia of the universe to avoid collapse into a black hole is 52.5 billion light years!* Matter of the universe could not be created early in a big bang! Particle pair production at CERN also confirms antimatter exactly equals matter, (first law of thermodynamics) so there is no net residual of matter falsifying the assumed creation of matter by pure concentration of energy. Running the universe back in time is not the same for its energy and matter. A candle burning (like star we see today) ENERGY (photons) can go back to a point but the MATTER of the universe cannot. The candle gets BIGGER and must STOP at its maximum state of ORDER minimum entropy! Stars must by the second law do the same they cannot form by self gravity from a higher entropy state (Wallace 2009)! There had to be an expansion of space followed by the creation of wave energy with no mass except earth at centre to nearly the size we observe today. This is where the deSitter solution (1917) of Einstein's wave equation comes in and amazingly fits the Biblical account: Day 1: _"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth"_ Earth with space stretched out Day 1: God said _"let there be light"_ photon energy injected into expanding space equal to the total mass and energy of the universe Day 4: God said _"he made the stars also"_ after the expansion the mind of God collapses the wave energy into stars, planets, moons etc The delayed quantum eraser experiment shows a MIND collapses a wave to produce a particle with a history written retrospectively in time! The collapse is also instantaneous, has no antimatter problem, no gravity problem and solves the starlight time problem with no need for add hoc miracles! With earth existing before the stars it is unlikely all the wave energy would come from one point too close as it would destroy the earth plus distant quasars being so massive the wave energy would be too week by the time it got there and then there is the ordered placement of stars on swirling galaxies so I propose the following. Day 1 God creates time (beginning), space (Heavens) and matter (earth). God then stretches out the space from around earth many times faster than light. On a sphere six light days from earth he injects light into the expanding space at the centre of where every star will end up in their highly ordered galaxies. The light corresponds to every _"particle"_ wave that will make up the entire mass of the universe. After 3 days of expansion on day 4 His infinite mind collapses most of that energy to form every star, black hole, planet (beyond earth) and moon. Since the trace of light goes back to the six light day surface so does the observed history which after six days reaches earth. It means the history of the stars we observe is real and does go back billions of years in OUR frame of reference calculated by the distance but in THEIR frame of reference that history was created instantaneously backwards from 6000 years ago and by day 6 that light reached earth so Adam created on day 6 could see stars billions of light years away. The massive intensity of light being created on the six light day sphere means a concentration which by the time the echo of it reaches earth it is observed as an ultra smooth low temperature radiation we know as the CMBR. This also explains why even moons are hot on the inside. If they formed by external accretion of matter over long periods of time then all the heat would be generated on the outside and immediately begin radiating back into outer space and the planet would have a cold centre. But if created by wave energy from the inside then there is a reason why excess of that energy could create the hot interior we discovered. Since _"God has made it plain"_ all our answers should be plain to both non-believers and believers regardless of the sophistication of the technology. The biblical account is the only account which correctly separates space and matter using both Schwarzschild's and deSitter solutions to Einstein's equation of relativity overcoming the antimatter and second law problems of the Big Bang. It is therefore no longer necessary for creationists to deny the obvious history of light from distant stars and look _"dumb"_ or require add-hock miracles or special pleading to solve what has been a major stumbling block for many who question the truth of the Bible based on the stars which should give glory to God to anyone who looks at them.
