You've got to draw what you see

It's fundamental to the way I work. It drives my curiosity and creativity.
But why do people find hard?
Surely seeing is the one skill they already have?
Do they believe they need to know what they are looking at before they can draw it?

I did something similar to the phone art game in a first school lesson (I was one of the kids lol) - I remember the drawing I made for the other pupil was a cartoony dog’s face. It was pretty successful apart from not realising it would have been helpful to describe the top of his head as a curved line.
