I know this is a very subtle thing, but as someone who loves Tatsuro Yamashita and is half-Japanese, I just want to teach you and others how to say his name properly. For his first name, the emphasis is on the first syllable, not the second. It’s not tat-SOO-ro, it’s TA-tsu-ro. His last name is not Yama-SHI-ta, but instead the i is sort of muted and the emphasis is on the MA. ya-MA-shta. So just to reiterate, instead of Tat-SOO-ro Yama-SHI-ta, it should be pronounced as TA-tsu-ro Ya-MA-shta.
