Let me know if you have any questions about the build. I lived in the van for a year so can tell you exactly how it was to be using this design day to day. There's also a number of bits that I left out! Would love to know if anyone has seen a van similar to this before?

@natco7567 I reread my message ... I did not mean for it to come off as being an a-hole , at the end of the day what works for one person may not work for another , doesn't mean it's not a good idea. Each to their own 👍 anyway I hope what ever you're doing that your life is good 😊.

There are many great ideas here. I would use a longer tube running to the ceiling to suck out the warm air. Hot air is a bigger problem where I live. I would keep the heater in the van, or better yet get a more compact diesel heater that taps directly into the fuel tank. Have a great day!
@natco75674 ай бұрын
Yes I did contemplate the built in diesel heater. Because I found I didn't need it it ended up being a good idea having it removable.

Some really interesting ideas here, you have really created something that works well for a particular style of camping. Our van has comfortable seating for 3 and windows which were things i really wanted for my family, but if i was into stealth camping and cycling this would 💯 be it.

Yeh definitely a very particular type of van. I did contemplate windows but found it was ok just keeping the side door open when in the back.

Regarding the floor-mounted ventilation fan, take care if using it while parked near other vehicles that may be running, such as a car park or truck stop. Sucking in vehicle exhaust fumes while sleeping is bad news, as one is unlikely to notice the danger. A CO2 alarm is a good idea.

Thanks for sharing. I also found that most van conversion left little space for walk and is full of furnitures. I have been searching minimalist style campervan that has spacious inside and very little furniture but still have essential features. You are the first one I have seen. I also have an idea that a campervan conversion that hides everything inside the floor and walls, and has tatami mat.

Yes I had exactly the same issue - couldn't find any that were like this, hence why I decided to make it myself. I did think about trying to hide stuff more in the walls, but decided I'd rather maximise the width and height of the space. Would love to see what you come up with!

I'm not sold on stealth campers. Someone is more likely to try a break-in on a regular van than a camper because a camper most likely has someone inside. Plus, restrictions on parking are much the same on both van types here in the uk. That said, I like the space saving ideas 👌
@natco75675 ай бұрын
Do you think? I presumed that a camper is much more at risk because you can just smash a window and know there'll probably be laptops, money etc inside.

It's really interesting and i'll try to keep watching, but a minute into the video the music is so loud, louder than your voice actually, i habe to decide between a headache and understanding what you're saying. An honest dilemma at this point, but an unnecessary incumbrence. Hope you can work with that feedback, cause other than that I'm really intrigued.
@natco75675 ай бұрын
Appreciate the feedback. I tried to get the music balance right but sounds like I didn't lower it enough. I think I might have dropped the volume of the music around 1min10s in the video so maybe see if you can hear the voice slightly better after that....
@jonabub5 ай бұрын
@@natco7567 It felt the same afterwards but i can tell you i am really impressed by the concept of your van. The only worry i'd have with the ventilator near the ground would be whether smells would come up through there or not. And i'd also wish for direct access to the driving cabin. Is there a particular reason you didn't add that? Also, maybe i missed that, but did you plan a shower and toilet solution? If i'd go down the route of camping buses i'd certainly favour a similar build that i can keep adapting and changing depending on my needs and that i can register as lorry for tax benefits. But i'd love to be able to take a shower and use the bin in some instances. Anyway, other than the music part, it's really nice of you to share your build, i really liked watching it all. Thank you!
@natco75675 ай бұрын
@@jonabub Hey appreciate the discussion, and good to get the feedback on music for future improvement. Never had any issues with smells through the ventilator. I did contemplate access to the cabin but kept it as is for security/stealth and insulation. In the end it worked really well because I could use the cabin as a wet room and keep the back clean and dry. Definitely pros and cons to each option though. I did have a shower and toilet solution that I didn't include in the video. I made my own slimline toilet to save space but you could easily fit a cassette toilet or similar in the van. For showering I created a pump that could be dropped into the water containers with a pipe hook up on the rear door. Glad you liked the build!

The diesel heater outside is not very stealthy in fact could encourage vandalism! Also white van is a red flag to anyone, wouldn't it be better in a light green or french grey?
@natco75675 ай бұрын
You could be right, not sure how I'd test which is better. The white van is nice because it gets lost in the crowd with normal builders/delivery vans. Found I didn't actually use the diesel heater much, but you're right it would be more stealthy if it was built in. Decided to save space instead by keeping it portable.
