Hi Phil, I am 78 years old and look forward to your videos every week. I feel we have a lot in common, I am a turner, mostly bowls, my dear wife of 58 years passed away in 2021, we watched your videos together. Our daughter was born in 1965 and we almost named her Stephany, but settled on Daphne instead. So my friend when we visit on Wednesday or Thursday evening for the few minutes please know that I like the things you do, your reviews are always interesting, and wood turnings are so good, I have tried to copy alot of your work! So my friend thanks for culling the scam offers but for the legit reviews, for sure I for one, and probably many more will be happy to watch!

Wow what a small world. I , too, am 78 years old, lost my wife of 57 years back in 2021. I got into bowl turning because my wife enjoyed them so much. I can’t think of anyone I would rather watch than Phil. His mannerism and teaching ability is top notch. I also lost a son in 2022 almost a year to the day of losing my wife. Another son had a stroke in September 2022 and is completely bed ridden. Phil makes my Thursday.

I too am 78, but am not a turner. I started my watching experience with this channel! I started knowing the bare minimum about turning and have thoroughly enjoyed learning about it! and I love the conversation! (The other dissimilarity is that I am a woman who has been divorced for almost as long as you were married!) So, Phil, I love your channel, I even like the reviews, and look forward to seeing what new creation you come up with every week! 💕🌷

First, as to the product review videos. For me, I will look at (at least) part of a product review. If I find it interesting, I watch all of it. If I don't I give a thumbs up and exit. About 50% of them I do find interesting. Second, I have never watched one of your turning videos that were not great. This one clearly was a challenge, and it turned out great (as usual). Between you and Gary. I wait each week for your next surprise. Both of you have health issues, but still there is a video on Thursday (you) and Friday (Gary). Never stop, we ALL just love it. ;-)

Hi 👋, those sanding devices look great from Tuffy, An hour or so, after watching you, I was watching Jim from Sprague Woodturning, and he was saying he had problems trying to get inside a vessel that he was turning, mention your channel, and I couldn’t remember who the person was that you’ve got your sanding device from, so I had to come back and watch yours again, so then I went back to gym and told him about Tuffy Martinez, and I’ve just been back to the message I sent to him, and he has put a reply, thanks, Stay safe, keep up the great work,

For several years, when I heard the words "mask and face shield on", I knew I was going to get a good lesson on wood turning. You have made hundreds of videos over the years and have asked for nothing other than requesting folks to subscribe to your channel. Now, there are vendors asking you to review their products. This is one of the biproducts of putting out great content. So, IMHO, you are entitled to reap the benefits that you deserve from giving many viewers a free wood turning education for so many years. Do the reviews since you won't hear a peep from me other than giving a thumbs up from this end of the inner web. And I must add that a KZbin friend named Gary, who turns wood in your vicinity, has also started doing reviews as well. He also provides excellent free videos. The both of you, through your generosity of time, deserve a lot more than what you receive . I say thank you to you both. The both of you are nice fellow's who give so much to the wood turner community. Keep those wood shavings flying!

Good looking bowl,, as for the reviews, I don't mind them at all. If it's something I might be interested in I watch it, if it's not I skip it. Bought my laser after a review by Gord Rock. I am today years old when I finally understood what you meant by “clearance”!! 😂 The joys of KZbin is the watcher is exposed to ideas, products and information from the content providers, so you do you. Love it, Phil! Always LOVE you and your turning videos. They are always uplifting to me. I think the way you do product reviews is perfect from the labeling of them, to being selective about what products you review, to your honest feedback. Your persistence paid off again, Phil. You found a BIG bowl this time and it is beautiful as always. Regarding your product reviews--I remember watching your review of the Vevor Button Maker. You were like a kid in a combination toy store/candy store! Back in the mid to late 1970's I worked at a Bible Camp and we used a Badge-A-Minit press to make buttons for the campers. Hi Phil! I've only been turning for about 4 years, and now retired, so I have even more time! I can't tell you how much you personally have taught me! It's not just what you say, but watching how you do things has been a great help. I don't always comment, but I _never_ miss a video! There's about 6 turners on my weekly list, but you are first. This piece is beautiful and I really appreciate your product reviews. If it's not something I want, I still enjoy your presentation. I have actually bought due to your reviews. The wife and I have been looking at e-bikes, so l enjoyed your first review and looking forward to the next! Sorry to be so wordy. Keep up the great work and many thanks for all you do!

I really appreciate this, Garry, thank you! I hope you do decide to get e-bikes. The two of you will have fun adventures! 😊

Don't worry about the heaters, Phil. In the brilliant algorithm of KZbin interaction is interaction. Just be a duck and let it roll off your back. I will gladly watch and comment on Your content. I don't think I've missed a video since I've subscribed to the channel. Keep it up, sir.

Phil I don’t want to write a novel but you asked. I enjoy your videos. I look forward to your wood turning every Thursday. It is a pleasure to watch you work. You’re a master at what you do. I also enjoy the review videos. I bought the small chainsaw you reviewed for my wife. Needless to say she loves the saw. She wants an e-bike. We looked at a couple and I told her I have a helmet to look at. It is the one you reviewed. I am looking forward to your review of the e-bike. Phil keep doing what you do. There is a large group of people who appreciate and love what you do. Now this LARGE bowl is beautiful. I thought you were going to cut it in half when the video first started. I’m glad you didn’t. Thanks for the show. Joel

In my opinion you do product reviews the right way -- in separate, occasional videos. I suspect that part of why some viewers are so opposed to channels doing anything advertising-adjacent at all, is that so many channels have abused their viewers' attention, either by slapping promotions in the middle of their regular content, putting out too high a ratio of promotional content, or worst of all, trying to disguise paid promotions as real content. So thanks for not doing any of that, Phil. Your channel is one of my faves!
@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop Жыл бұрын
Oh, yeah, I hate it when they put ads in the middle of the dang video! I will never do that. I will always keep them separate from my regular videos. Thanks for understanding and for taking your time to watch any of my videos, I really appreciate it! 😊

One of the better ones I think. I have now given up turning because of age and health issues. My equipment is going to your neighborhood for a son in-law to use in his retirement years. I told him to watch some of your videos for a few tips .

Hi Phil, what a beautiful elm burl turning! You have a unique and special given gift. You’re right, it looks like a beautiful piece of Italian marble with all the faces and figures in it.
