All the research I've done says the exact opposite. Front loaders are the least bought because they didn't work as well as promised when they first came out. Now they are considered better performers but have to overcome their initial introduction. Now I can't take this seriously. I just need a washer that's gonna last and works well.

I would like to see a washing battle between the front load, the top load without an agitator, and the classic top load with an agitator. My money is on the classic top load with agitator.

I prefer LG's Twin washing machine. I would rather have two washers rather than a built in sink, since I can just walk down the hallway and use that sink. Plus, Samsung appliances are low quality, as proven by the whole LG vs. Samsung washer debacle. The LG executives were simply performing what an average consumer would do to a washer. It's the low quality of the product which was the reason it broke.

Now I am just a small-town Network Engineering student, but I come from a family of appliance repair technicians, and I do not like all these fancy new laundry machines. With machines that are primarily mechanical, rather than electronic, there are a lot more field serviceable repairs rather than field replaceable. The traditional field of my family and the field I am study are becoming more and more interrelated as we move toward the Internet o' Things, and I am not sure I like it. I like my washing machine to do its job and do it well and reliably; with increased complexity there is increases risk of something breaking down and instead of a $20 timer, I instead have to get a $200 control board.
