6:30 zerg get refunded when eggs gets killed. You do delay the mutas though, so there's that. And for some reason it's not even the 75% refund like morphing cocoons getting killed or manually cancelling the eggs, the eggs being killed is a full 100% refund.

I think that is fair though since it is their only unit producing structure. Terran/Protoss can cancel a unit for a full refund.

Ive always thought that targetting larva with widowmines is a massively underrated strategy, especially in the early games. Probably al they are good for nowadays; though perhaps with the zero range they have killing a single larva at a time isnt worth it anymore either? But with liberators its also very powerful imo. Cant run away, guaranteed damage, and almost always an angle not covered by spores.

Three larva costs the Zerg nothing, and exposes your widow mine since it is no longer stealth. Also the egg doesn't die to a widow mine, which can cause missed larva. Targeting drones can get you 3+, which costs the Zerg 150. minerals and 6 larva or significantly delay mining time. A Zerg shouldn't be sitting there early game, with max larva.

@@IcariumGaming larva may not 'cost anything', but they are not an optional part of the zerg macro pipeline. Neither drones nor cash in the bank mean anything if you can keep their larva count suppressed long enough. The main drawback of this strat is that the payoff is quite delayed and you need the right followup to capitalize on it.

Eggs are refunded when they die, 100%. Zerglings, ravagers, lurkers are refunded 75% similar to cancelling a structure.
