You go out to the woods for a nice relaxing camping trip away from civilization. You set up your tent and make your fire, when suddenly you hear something coming from the dark woods. You turn and see a strange symbol made of twigs hanging above your tent. You've just been marked by the Blair Witch and chances of survival are slim to none!

Theory: she's not attached to the woods, but to the symbols she scaters. We know from the movie that there are several symbols scattered in the woods. And we also know that before she kills, there are piles of rock or symbols discovered nearby. The first to do is destroy her symbols. A witch must have a demonic patron that supplies them with magic. This magic can be used through a conduit (either a wand, or a symbol).

the blair witch is not only controlls the forest, she can change day/night time, she also can change the surroundings, the feeling of passing time for each party member, and (you've guessed it) weather... makes a flamethrower pretty much useless in that point

On the way, they find this unique and memorable log by the river. And as they follow this creek, they come across that same log... over and over and over.

The woods mentioned in the movie are literally impossible to get lost in due to their small size. A straight walk in any direction has you exiting in less than 30 mins. We have much larger woods in MD I the town of Burkittsville is a blink and you’ll miss it town.

If you get lost in Burkittsville: 1. The Appalachian Trail runs through the woods. White marks on trees mark the way, and plenty of hikers camping nearby. 2. The area is mountainous, it is easy to find high ground for a better look. 3. You can see the light of cities like Washington DC at night. 4. If you can see the stars, follow the North Star until you find a road, the area is not remote. In case you're wondering, I got lost on the AT a little farther north at night once, and found my way out, no problem. Suffice it to say, NOBODY could be lost three days in this area

Gathland State Park is a couple of miles from Burkittsville on top of South Mountain. One time I was taking a short hike on the Appalachian Trail north of the state park. It was winter and overcast and gloomy. I couldn't help thinking I was smack in the middle of Blair Witch country.
