0:21 I never knew what this song was about. Now I do!! It's about her personality. The woman Rod is singing about in this ✨✨song. I thought it was about her clothes that. She was wearing.❤ No it's about her confidence and the way she carries herself.Just so sure,, of who she is and what she wants❤ Like what she's doing where she's going. Just like Jacqueline Onassis. I never knew what this song meant. Now I do.!! On top of that, she's got a man admiring her for being that way because she wears it well. You spend enough time working on yourself. You'll get to look that good too!! You have to love who you are on the inside and then you can love yourself on the outside.❤ Happy Sunday!😊

“You Wear It Well” (1972) was penned as a collaboration between Rod Stewart and Martin Quittenton. The subject of this song is Stewart writing a letter to an old flame. What she is wearing well might be her current life, the years passing by, or the birthday gown he once offered her. The tune falls squarely into Stewart’s central body of work, as another folksy “blue-eyed soul” ballad. This sounds pretty similar to “Maggie May” (1971), a huge hit from his previous album “Every Picture Tells a Story” (1971). Along with “You Wear It Well,” other charting singles from the “Never a Dull Moment” LP (1972) include a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Angel” (1971) and a version of Glenn Sutton’s “What Made Milwaukee Famous”, released by Jerry Lee Lewis in 1968. The line “Madame Onassis got nothing on you” refers to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (née Bouvier) - former First Lady to and widow of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. At the time, Jacqueline - often called “Jackie O” - was the spouse of Greek tycoon Aristotle Onassis until his death in 1975. Jackie O made quite a reputation for herself as a woman of grace, charm and style, prompting the London Evening Standard to comment as follows : “Jacqueline Kennedy has given the American people… one thing they have always lacked : Majesty.” Ronnie Wood from The Faces and later of The Rolling Stones played guitar on this track. 💙🎵💚 May you rest in peace, unforgettable Jacqueline Lee Kennedy Onassis (1929 - 1994)… 🌹

Always my favorite Rod Stewart song. Beautifully written and crafted, uptempo and yet slightly bittersweet. Wonderfully performed. They just don't write them like that anymore.

Still coming here to listen to one of ROD's best performances ever . The Lady Fiddler is great and ROD STEWART is fabulous and I hope he stays around with his music a while longer. I love to listen to him and I have been doing that since the early 70's. The lyrics of this melody are great ! Such an enthusiastic audience...would love to have been there and share the joy ! .

I have been soooo blessed, to have heard Maggie May at 12 years old, and gone along for the ride of so many of Rod's hits. He is an amazing artist, and it has truly been my good fortune to have been able to enjoy his music for over 40 years!! Thanks Rod, for keeping us rockin and rollin. Your talent is unsurpassed by any other!!

Everything is great about this performance. Rockin Rod, the hot violinist, the blonde in the audience and the guy with the tartan jester type headwear pumping his fist to the song even though he’s been ushered away. You see him again moments later still pumping his fist in the air to the rhythm of the song. It makes me laugh every time. I can picture him still fist pumping to it today lol. Right song for it
