I don't follow a 7 day cycle, I follow the "earth around the sun cycle" which is currently 365.242374 Days. I always have to explain this to Christians. If ex-Christians were never "real" Christians then no Christian has the ability to know if they are currently a "real" Christian. There are people who are believers for 10 years, then leave the faith; 20 years then leave; 50 years then leave. They fully believe they are "real" Christians. The way current believers feel about their faith is the same way former believers felt when they were practicing Christians.

I avoid words with religious connotations. There is a different mindset between secular and religious usage of words. Firstly I don't call myself an atheist because I don't need a label for the lack of something, I just say I'm not religious. This is taken to mean having no god beliefs etc here 🇬🇧. I'm aware it can mean different things in America. I don't have faith in anything but I'll give my trust to people and things based on reasonable expectations. I also don't believe anything but I'll accept things based on reason, logic and rational arguments.

The arrogance of “If you’re going to call yourself a Christian you better agree with my interpretation of what that means” is alarming. I’ve always liked to consider how people I disagree with might argue to determine if I’m truly in the right. You can tell this guy doesn’t even entertain the idea he might be wrong, much less consider opposing points of view. If you’re not open to changing your beliefs when receiving new information then you’re being intellectually dishonest, and therefore you’re not really interested in knowing what’s actually true.
