Of course the brain cannot differentiate between reality and the constructs of the mind. It's because the reality is JUST THE CONTRACT OF THE MIND. There is no other way of experiencing what we call "the world", "our everyday reality", "this 3D space" as through our brain. Conversely, whatever mind imagines is as real as 'reality". Now, pause and realise that there is no either/or in our experience but a continuum in our experience between what is real and what is imagined. Yet, through practice of mindfulness and meditation we have the chance to catch glimpses of reality more often than if we dull our guard and senses.
