Here in Boston, I worked with an older guy who moved a bit differently than everyone else, spoke quietly but confidently. Struck me as someone whose mettle had been tested and was comfortable with the results. I didn’t ask him whether or not he had served in the British military, because that much was obvious, but I did ask him what he did in the British military. He said he was in “the boat service”, which I found hard to believe. Grinning, I asked him what color the boathouse was at Hereford, and he laughed. “You can piss right off with that, mate, I saw the movie, too”, he said, and we worked well together for the next decade. lol

Honestly this is so tame. If you’re a civilian and you’ve never seen how absolutely ridiculous some people who go to boot camp (especially Marine Corps boot camp) look, you’re in for a treat. Look it up. Those drills are savages and don’t care about your feelings. Ant was just correcting something that would’ve harmed her. An improper movement like that could break your fingers, and or disorient you and get you wrapped in the line and cause worse issues, or cause you to drop something if you’re not careful. Details as minor as this can make or break you. In every operation, in every place across the globe. Your readiness and attention to detail can be the measure between success and failure, and ultimately the life of you and your fellow brother. The laughing and joking has a time and place, but even in training you have to do everything as if you’re already there trying to accomplish what you’re training for. One of my favorite phrases and one that past, future, and current military will always fall back on as the first law beyond all else, the sum of how you succeed and survive in a combat situation... TRAIN LIKE YOU FIGHT.
@hubertdenise31002 жыл бұрын
It’s really easy to injure yourself while climbing/abseiling using ropes.If you’re belaying then you’re fingers can get trapped or scraped raw by the metal parts or the rope sliding in/out of the hold.When you’re climbing down you can stick your fingers on the rope or in the harness, where you can lose your fingers or get serious burn.She made a mistake, but it happens very easily especially to people who’ve probably never done it before.

I think people fail to realise how commonly people fuck up when they're using a pulley for the first time on a climb. This is one of the worst ones but I've seen loads of bad ones (including someone who after moving from one section to another at camp forgot the golden rule - and that is always leave one part of you clipped into the rope. Fucking common sense but these mistakes happen. I think they pointed out Love Island because it's where people know her from - it's celebrity SAS not the normal one, so obviously it's what made her famous. But she's actually fairly smart, but everyone has a common sense lapse sometimes but in this case it was just desperation of trying to cling on.

Brightside44 Camilla literally works in landmine disposal, protecting civilians. That’s what she does for a living. She has more business than most.

Who are you to say that? Who made you the gate keeper of special forces selection? If you haven't done it you have no right to say who does and does not have "business" being near special forces selection.

After sitting through 60 arduous minutes watching that cheap old prostitute otherwise known as Katie Price attempt then fail after only 48 hours, I reiterate what I said before. I have no respect for these d listers, but I have every respect for our Special Forces and the training they go through. Programmes like this are why i cancelled my TV license
