Stolas' entrance was a fucking MASTER PIECE of an introduction. This episode just kept getting better and better as it went on. But as amazing as the fight scene and the self-summoning of Stolas was, the story teller in me loves the Blitzø hallucination the most. That was peak character development. And him screaming at the end while being bound up by feathers in that torrent of madness was just perfection.

It's a wild change from his early characterization, isn't it? During early episodes, Blitzo was portrayed as only dealing with Stolas out of obligation because he needed the Grimoire to get I.M.P access to the living world. You have to wonder what, exactly, caused the turnaround.

Okay here's my theory on Blitz's mental state...we all get now that he's afraid of connecting to people...and we know he used to be part of a duo with his sister in the circus. Then we add this piece...the fact he looks covered in blood when he starts tripping. My theory is he screwed up VERY bad...his sister got hurt badly,Career ending bad, her life self destructed and she ended up in rehab...and Blitz is afraid to approach anyone else because of that failure.

Verosika described his sister as a sad loser washup, so I almost wonder if she decided to be a solo act after Blitz screwed up (hurt her? or maybe a family fight?) forcing Blitz to be a solo act as well. That would explain some of his rejection anxiety “eventually everyone goes” since he pushed his sister away and his fear of being alone. I can assume neither of their careers went well since they were meant to be a duo… who knows, i’m spitballing.

Sidenote..assuming that was Stolas true form when he appeared, imagine what a war between the heaven and hell in the old days would've looked like. And Stolas is only Ars Goetia, which isn't quite the top of the totem poll. Infact considering his family we can assume this means Via will eventually be able to do something similar when she gets old enough to inherit the title? So...what are the original founders of hell like? Infact. What can Charlie's father,the KING do? So far we just have an image of a very human looking man with apple themes. But with Demon forms? Also the Ars Goetia(The actual book) has not just princes but also kings, dukes, etc etc. You have to keep in mind that in the show, Ars Goetia is the name of Stolas's family and ONLY his family(Granted we don't know how large that family is but still) so it's safe to place Stolas in the third highest power rank in the context of the show.

I swear, this episode was worth the wait but my favorite part was when Stolas had gotten involved. If you notice, in the screen that had started up and shut down, after it shut down Stolas' reflection could be seen in it. With that knowledge you simply sit on the edge of your seat knowing Stolas is pissed at these D.H.O.R.K.S. and that he's showing what it means to be an Overlord of Hell

gotta see it from Blitzo's point of view: if they some hot got all 4 of them at the beginning, the portal would have been open and humans would have found a way to Hell. grant it: 4v2 is better odds, but when they didn't even have their guns out while these MIB wannabes (Men in Black to clarify, i know you don't watch a lot of things) are packing heat: yeah, it was a good call from him. also, the reason they got shocked was due to the dart in Moxxie's neck going off when he pushed the button. just helping identify what happened.

So wonderful. As soon as I get done watching it again, I get a notification that this is up, so of course I immediately watch. I LOVE the animation in this one. The fight scenes and hallucinations are gorgeous. That's to say nothing of the character development. Ain't got much for VA Fun Facts today. Agents One and Two are kind of interesting. Agent One is voiced by Michael Romeo Ruocco, who doesn't appear to have a lot I can find. Actor, done a little bit of broadway, it seems, but he's also the singing voice of Blitzo in this. Agent Two is voiced by Erica Luttrell, who is a fairly successful voice actress. Can't find anything that I know you'd know her from, but I have a few fun ones for my own amusement. She played Princess Candy in the old cartoon Dave the Barbarian, Jody in the movie Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, and the biggest one, Sapphire in Steven Universe. Edit: I didn't even mention one of my favorite little details! The Music! During the fight scene, there's a different synth going during each of the characters...massacres. It's more upbeat rock during Loona, becomes more of a Theremin for Millie, then is mostly bass for Moxie and Blitzo. I just love that detail so much.

Truth bomb reminds me of that one exchange in Splinter Cell, and I'm guessing there's truth to it, that one method of interrogation is to use barbiturates to make the subject trip balls. They'll spout off all kinds of nonsense and afterwards you convince the subject they spilled their guts in that altered state of mind and that you're just "going over it again." And of course the subject has no recollection of their trip or what they even said while in that state. It both provides a means of making them panic that they actually told the secret they were guarding and at the same time gives them an excuse to not feel so guilty about it.

One thing I've been thinking about... Stolas mentioned having associates on Earth, so one wonders if DHORKS has been infiltrated by mortals who'd be working for Hell's overlords. Which one would be more dangerous for the cast, that there are none who've sold out to Hell working in that company/agency, or that those that have are under the patronage of Stolas' rivals? The cannibal family in the first episode were devil worshipers, but I doubt they had anything to actually do with Hell's society, let alone its power structure. Would be Lovecraftian paranoia if there actually are such people on Earth in the series.

i'm sure either i or other people have mentioned it before, But Stolas is a real demon of mythology, specifically he is from the demonology books: Lesser Key of Solomon, Ars Goetia, and Dictionairre Infernal. In the books, Stolas is said to have an affinity and teachings of Astronomy, Plants,and precious stones. Also, under the agent during his entrance was his Ars Goetia summoning sigil, down to the minorest detail.
