This is also a pretty apples to apples comparison though even if the 10750h generally warrants a $100 price hike on the laptops that feature both of them.

On the other hand, the efficient 7nm AMD Ryzen chips in laptops, perform very close to their desktop counterparts. This is why Intel is making 10nm chip for laptop but not desktop yet. But unexpectedly the yield is so bad that they can't go beyond 4 cores in their 10nm chips. Intel chips perform worser in almost all aspects in gaming laptops now, but they still sell it by unethical marketing.

@@seb.evidente7328 I just got mine yesterday but the 2019 version too and so far I only tested Valorant. It runs hot around the turbo button for 55-75c but I'm not sure if that is accurate. The good thing is that it has a CoolBoost feature that I think helps the laptop to cooldown the temps fast while idle and after you game. You can control the fans and customized also each fan.

have the helios 300 and its a solid machine. the stuff they are putting on the triton is something i wish they had available went i was shopping like having an option to upgrade that empty drive bay for a larger battery. would have been the perfect machine last year but hopefully they listened and are making it available this time around. i agree the fans are loud but the temps stay cool and dont thermal throttle. one heck of a work horse for daily computing and plays games well. just a strong laptop with the hardware you want and not as many frills/extra gimmicks to raise the price tag.

The space used to be for a hard drive. I own the previous version which looks almost identical and is fitted with 2 nvme drives plus a hard drive. Gotta love how easy it is to work on, no special screws, no need to disassemble to clean fans or upgrade anything.

Graphics card punches above it's weight, with far better thermals then my old 1070 laptop (runs about 65 to 70 celsius AFTER benchmark tests....idles 40 to 50) Built in one button overclock which does noticeably increase performance. 2 M.2 slots and 2.5 drive space. It's a quality laptop. I would purchase again

LGR can teach you all about the turbo button. Back before you were born in the 90s the turbo button was used on many 486 computers to actually do the opposite of what you think it does. It was to slow the CPU down to a previous generation speed before game compatibility. Without turbo enabled on your newer computer, the old game would play way too fast and the game would be very unplayable. With turbo on the game would play at the speed it was developed for and work properly

​@@huzcer It's only a cliche because it's true. Also, thinking that a gaming laptop is used only for gaming is such a narrow-minded perspective. Video editing or live-streaming are two examples where you'd want more cores (which Ryzen often gives us unlike Intel), and sure, it may not make much difference to gaming FPS but it will definitely make the price tag higher without increasing the performance. More for less is always a good selling point.

Triton 300 has 3 x M.2 slots while Helios 300 has 2 x M.2 + 1 SATA 2,5" bay. The empty space is that bay from helios, bacause they use same components for both.

Don't be all "meh" about the mini-DP port. My current gaming laptop lacks one, and my gaming monitor (which is an Acer 21x9 1440 gsync) only supports 50hz on the HDMI port, so having a DP port available is incredibly important. Acer laptops are pretty legit. I bought a Helios 300 last year and for the money it was incredibly well designed and built. I ended up sending it back for a Razerblade Pro 17, because I wanted a 17" display, but had it not been for that I would still be rocking that thing.

The cable going behind the heatsink's exit is a design flaw in my opinion because of the cable's head shape. This will heat up the cable and cause resistance to the copper wires then the pc will request to pull more from the cable which will in return heatup the cable even more.

I owned Predator Helios 300 GTX1660Ti. One thing for sure is the fan will be really loud if you are playing games with stock thermals. Gpu/cpu temps around 85-90c with turbo mode on (OC and max fan) when gaming. After i delid both and undervolt the cpu, gpu temp barely reaches 60c and cpu temp ~70c with OC gpu and custom fan speed (almost silent).
