Just made this for evening meal. Batteries ran out in scales so it was guess thatll b the right amount . No bacon for me but added broccoli+ peppers that needed using up + it was delicious + very filling !

You could add rotisserie chicken into that and pair with a roll for an easy weeknight dinner as well. Think I might try and make this soon. Update: Made this last night and it was delicious. I did not have any rotisserie to test my suggestion above and so used sausage instead. 10/10 would recommend. Everyone in the house said to make again in the future. Thank you for the fantastic recipe.

I was asked to bring a green bean casserole to a family dinner. I invented a creamy casserole of green bean, potatoes, onion, mushroom, and smoked sausage. My cream sauce was made using Amish green onion cheese. I topped it with the french fried onions. I was asked what was the name of the recipe. I said it had no name, as I'd just thrown it together as i went. My brother in law jokingly named it Phyllis's Concoction. But it was a hit.

@grammarosesopenpantry2729 Thank you so much!! When I married, 59 years ago this month, I did not know how to cook. My mom was a great cook, but chased us girls from the kitchen when she cooked. For years, I cooked from boxes, packages, and cans, all the time, having severe migraines, and not knowing why. When my daughter met her first husband, he told me MSG made him sick. So I started watching to make sure I wasn't feeding it to him. That's when I made the connection between the food I was eating and my migraines. It would happen 12 to 24 hours after I ate something with MSG. So 35 years ago I became a label reader, and learned to cook from scratch. One of my husband's sisters, several years ago, made the comment in my daughter's presence, that I hadn't known how to cook when I'd gotten married, but that I had become one of the best cooks in the family. I felt quite honored, as my hubby is the oldest of nine siblings.

Yes, we order them from Gurneys . Com..they are called Nicola..it says they are 2/3 less carbs and they are really good

I do not like green bean casserole, BUT I fixed your green bean casserole for Easter. A big (BIG) hit, everyone loved it and wanted the recipe and I loved it!!! No leftovers was the only problem. You were right on the bacon cooking part way and making your own French onion topping made a better difference. Thank you
