OMG...Cars in Uganda are too expensive. Those 2008 cars costing over $14K USD is crazy. I understand the cost for shipping them, but they should be going for no more than $6K.

The taxes aren't almost higher than the cost of the car. They're way higher than the cost of the car and the car valuation at URA is standardized at insane values irrespective of your actual cost of purchase.

May be u could be from Malawi, Zambia,or Zimbabwe where the car import delivery price is lower than the delivery price to Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, n also restrictions on car imports dating 13 years or more for small vehicles yet some countries don't restrictions car imports like Malawi, South Sudan, DRC
