You won't believe how easy it is! Missing captured nut or stripped plastic thread repair

I repair a missing captured nut in a plastic air box for a Toro lawnmower. You can use this trick in all sorts of plastic fittings where the nut has gone missing or the plastic threads have stripped out. Many people buy expensive inserts to solve this problem but I show how you can use any cheap bolt and nut from the hardware store to accomplish the same thing. Funny story, was replacing the air filter on a sedan, dropped the screw in the engine bay somewhere (hopefully it doesn't rip a belt) so I tried to get it with a Mag grab but no luck. So I tried a similar screw (there was 2 only dropped one) because the OEMs were hard to find and expensive. Luck has it stripped because it is just abs. So here I am. Now I need a tiny nut and bolt.

Cool. It will likely be stronger than the original. Let me know how it works in your ABS piece. I have done it once in what I was pretty sure was ABS and it worked fine.

Just used this tech on a Husqvarna chain saw heat shield with stripped screw hole, did it in a reverse nut with bolt so side where carburetor gasket and carb contact will be smooth.

Applying bit more torque will cause nut to pull towards the screwdriver.

Thanks! Dogs that were in the fight are ok. The big white dog of dads that is in some of my videos, the whiner, died suddenly a few days ago. He was only 6, he got into something, vet is not sure yet. His other dog has been moping around so he brought him for a visit with my dogs and it did not go well. Dumb bitches get stitches.

@@johnstrange6799 he was only 6. It has been rough on him and his other dog as well. Vet could not find anything, his body just shut down in basically a day.
