Some of that work was for correcting a previous owner's meddling with the electric harness. Personally, I would have ordered a new harness from Wiring Specialties and install that.

A lot of people use ATF for manual transmission fluid, some manufactures recommend to use it for their gearboxes

ATF is also commonly used in PAS systems, so possibly in the HICAS system, although i think she removed that, but maybe it still needs to pump fluid round a loop to not cause other issues. I wonder how much she made off all the shorts... Im gonna guess more than $5k
