I just got a mac pro 6,1 64gb ram 1tb ssd for $500. Some people would say it is not a smart buy given it is not longer supported on the latest MacOS. But even if along the way I decide to go to windows it would still be a server grade workstation with a lot of ram in a compact format. I look around to build my own micro itx PC, but any mobo (if any) with 4 ram slots would be more expensive than the entire mac. PS: I use it for math

@@morgonaut no I avoided the ES engineering samples. The w3265M was a retail chip, and the w3275M was a very early retail chip- QS, hard to tell, but it shows up as oem. I’ll see if I can still find it

I am going to buy W3275M CPU but seller is from China. How do I find out whether he/she will send me QS/ES or OEM one ? Can they fake it ?

It’s possible, just ask questions to make sure. Most seemed honest. You can also check if it’s genuine when you install, search on mac rumor forums and there are threads on it. You can look up the serial number on intels warranty site. Will at least tell you if it’s a tray cpu

Hi, I am going to buy Mac Pro now and thinking to change with XEON W-3175X 28core. It is not possible find W3275M is not possible get in UK. Retail is same price £7000. Do you think will W-3175X it work ? Buying Mac Pro now will be like a stupid decision but really don't want to use Windows. Don't know why.

No the 3175x does not work, it has less pcie lanes. It may even boot up at first, but won’t work after. You can find a used 3275m on eBay for cheap, I’m sure they ship to the UK. Very hard to find new

@@ClassicalTechnology May I ask one more question. I am going to buy Mac Pro 16 cores with 5700xt but would like to use with 6900 XT. The one I am going to buy is Aorus 6900Xt Master which is stated 322x140x60mm. Will it fit inside Mac Pro ?
