Reminds me of the story about some preservation in Africa. They had a huge elephant with a rope around it's ankle tied to a small tree during a medical exam. The elephant could have easily broken the tree or the rope if it wanted to do some guy asked why it doesn't try. One of the employees said it's because ever since the elephant was little and needed to stay still, they'd tie it to a tree. Well, when it was little it couldn't break the tree or the rope and as it got older it either was conditioned to think it was impossible to break free or it just got comfortable doing that routine and didn't see the need to break free.

But maybe giving it in small portions and mixed up with the rest of the vegetables and fruits that he eats. But please treat him with kindness and not tease him, they understand everything.
