You see him here, He also breaks up the first bar fight if you end up beating the guy at the ground. So with the bar alone theres another close airborne contact, plus touching while with open wounds and weakened from the work out of it all. So, even if you curb beating Mr. Downes, Arthurs life style is what get's him around that, and the time period. Downes isn't even the only one on the map seemingly always sickly past the usual stuff. People cannot even say smokers excuses cause smoking is a tool in this game. it's just made to look the part, but it's considered a healer like a yoshi fruit in this game, but with a badass surface to it. Many details are in this game. It's amazing. The music also gets off when Downse comes to advocate for you to be better and not fight that way. In many ways he was coming to save Arthur symbolically. Just a sad way in goes for them both. At least you don't have to beat him. I never wanted to the first time, but this was part of Arthurs way of keeping the gang safe and being what he thought was loyal at first. Least now he catches it, but it could be with some heart for Downes. Regardless it leads to Arthur being obligated in one form, or another with cutscenes to catch it. Bar fight beating as in winning a fight against a guy and then getting it, or literally beating the other man he originally found pathetic. Only to find he want's to heal everything in original intended story for redemption. Idk if this happens to everyone, but I saw him before the bar fight in valentine, so Arthur might be less rude, but once I recognized him I kept a distance. In a feeble effort to delay Arthur being infected until at least the bar fight before the ranch mission I intend to skip. I don't want Arthur responsible for saving anyone, or hurting that family in this playthrough. In any case, when I saw him in town my horse was walking near me and got super spooked and went up on it's back legs and moved away form him but still was worried and pointing and seeming to signal concerns looking over at downs as Arthur was close but not too close to him already, but I heard the cough and didn't proceed further. My first time around I felt bad for the orphans and the cause so i did wanna talk and Potentially donate despite my shenanigans and feeling just as carefree and devil may care as Arthur since I was none the wiser to any fatal illness being in this, or any game yet.

I wouldn't doubt that the house is similar to the ones found in South Park as well. As for tuberculosis, it was common for missionaries to get it specifically if they were dealing with the poor and sick. It wasn't uncommon for children to end up as orphans and carry the sickness that killed their parents as well. Anyway, keep up the good work!

each time u plau u will realize Arthur is exposed from multible sources, and Downes meets him like three times, and if u curb the others the bar fight is pleny enough to catch they way it happend. Go in a place where people have it and there you go. This game is high detail. Some stuff you have to do to proceed. Hoseas medicines and heavy details imply a fit too that one day he would even without the actions, but the story has more juice to it than just time unfolding. It's not just for Arthur to get sick, but for the sickness to be his salvation at the same time.

The game is very in depth but the story line plays like you have no choice even when you suspect the bullshit from dutch and the snitches early in the game.
