Donner Pass is no joke man. Comes with the dark past too. Just google Donner Party. Importante safe kayo and looks like kids have fun. I love that area but I always check the weather before and I go. May backroad pa yan, pa akyat ng Lake Tahoe. Looks like heaven pag nandoon ka 😁but u guys still rock, your resilience so admirable man!!!

We canceled our trip that day.We drive a 4x4 Toyota Tundra but Donner Pass is NOJOKE.we r in Reno now spending New Year here at GSR hotel w my family n probably go snowboarding at MT ROSE resort

I once drove from San Francisco to Reno in January and I swore I will never drive to Reno in the winter ever again. I had to rent tire chains in SF because it was required, then on the way home from Reno, I had to drive through Donner pass on I-80 in a blinding snowstorm, as in total white out talaga, I was just following the tail lights of the car in front of me - it was the most nerve wracking drive I've ever had to do, I'll never forget it. I had to pay somebody to put on the chains, then when it was over, I had to pay another guy to take off the chains.

That's why we don't travel during winter. We had enough of freezing cold weather in the East Coast so we moved to the West Coast
