I just got nuclear unlocked and was looking at the flow with a planner. Nuclear is crazy complicated at a glance.

@@Cobb very, only recommend nuclear if you want a challenge for sure. Just finished this up on stream with 460,000 with rocket fuel. Way more than enough for a long time.
@timon6427Ай бұрын
nuclear is more compact but not clean and it takes a lot more effort than rocket fuel to produce cleanly in the time you build enough nuclear to generate power for your playthrough with nuclear you could have just upgraded your sulfur miners and made more rocket fuel

i started uranium + plutonium factory based on a planner with the only requirement of 600 uranium. it took me around 100h of work for 10 uranium fuel rod and 6 plutonium fuel rod. i end up with factory that produce more than my main base ... this is ridiculouly complicated and required more than 20+ alternated recipes. it also required nearly every base ressources in the game (except coal and sam). That means a lot a logistic work. This build took all my energie and now, i don't know i will finish t9, i'm completly exausted by the scale of this kind of build.

I "only" made 792 generators worth of rocket fuel. I didn't feel like building a huge belt highway bringing in sulfur, so I got 3300 rocket fuel/min, which is the best balance I could find between "not too complicated" and "high yield" for 1650 Sulfur/min.

yeah didnt realize that one area of oil made 8 600 lines of diluted fuel and only one of those lines made enough rocket fuel for 120 fully slugged generators..... like 50 megawatts. so with enough coal and sulfur i have enough fuel to make like 400 megawatts...... also there is a recipe that goes strait from fuel to rocket fuel
@Lukashoffmann94Ай бұрын
I don’t like that recipe. Sure, you can get even more Turbofuel, but your sulfur consumption also spikes.

Nuclear is much more complicated. To be able to 100% recycle all waste you have to do all the way up to Ficsonium Fuel Rods. I guess you could just sink the plutonium rods and be done with it, but with the right alts you can make so much Ficsonium Rods for not that many resources.

I'm confused why you aren't using the nitro ricket fuel alternate, is it mentioned in the video?
@seethrewАй бұрын
because this recipe, when broken down on a larger scale, provides more power. but obviously requires alot more work. I believe we broke it down as a community on stream one night to see which would be more useful to utilize with the materials i had available. Also, that was calculated prior too me pulling a 2nd node of nitrogen to the area aswell, so who knows lol

I am curious about your nuklear plant. Mine used a lot of space. I put it in the south west corner of the map, reaching from paradise island up the whole shore ending at the oil nodes. 6 Levels (6 x 10 walls) high. But it's only so big, because I utilized ficsonium rods. Wanted to try it out, even though it doesn't seem to be efficient at all. (I think: Efficient would be to sink plutonium rods + use the resources required to go the ficsonium route to build and feed energy amps.)

Okay genuine question... why didn't you use the alt recipe that's literally 10x easier and uses far less buildings? I don't know sometimes but it's like a player takes a look at what's needed and what they can make and then jump on it and don't use the SCIM calculator just to gander at other locations they could use for best output rates. Great build in my opinion, just horrible execution with planning and future proofing in case you wanted to do something else with that region in particular like making a huge oil refinery area or whatever. Believe it or not but I jammed 172 generators into a small area and it makes just over 107,000 MW from the alt Rocket Fuel Recipe, and I could make more power with the byproduct I get from making Rocket Fuel to make Turbo Fuel.
@seethrewАй бұрын
For a very good reason, we (as in over 100 people) broke both recipes down on a Massive scale (not just 172 tiny gen's), and this recipe produces more for less. (main situation being the nitric acid). I'm getting to the point in my satisfactory experience where I have gathered enough knowledge to be able to actually explain my reasoning behind everything. I challenge you to join me on a live stream some day, so you can see that I, in fact, don't do things logically. My main focus is to do things you would never dream of doing, so that its actually content and not just a replication of what the average player base would be. Ill gladly go into more detail of why its better if you want, but might wanna take another look at it.
