Or a Conibear trap but KZbin acts like a delicate princess when it comes to that sort of thing, apparently death does not exist in KZbin land but whiners are overpopulated.... Maybe KZbin just needs a bigger Conibear for those and they could use a nonfat, iced skinny mocha with light ice, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle for bait. :)

I’ve used mine (night guard lights) for the last 3 years. I think it has helped since I have quite a few predators that show up on our neighbors game cams and we haven’t had a loss. Prior to hanging them, I’d have chickens disappear, or they’d be half eaten and left at the coop. I think they help keep predators away.

Here in Southwestern Ontario many sheep and goat farmers are adding a “real” donkey to their menagerie. The braying alerts the owners to a problem and a donkey hoof in the ribs or head would hurt coyotes. Gina and Olivia would have a new friend too.

Gina, if you wet a hand towel and lay it under your cutting board, it won't wiggle around on your countertop. Also, when you cut the celery in half crosswise, cut it again and then line up all of that in a row. You can cut all of them at once and save time. I love the look of the soup. I'm going to jot down the 'recipe' and use it the next time I bake a ham.

Mink are a real problem with chickens, had a friend lose 17 Silkies to a mink in one night. We have a ton of predators here in the high mountains of NC. Bear, mountain lion, bob cat, fox, mink, coyote, you name it, we got it. NYC will soon be covered from top to bottom with plates! What an awesome tribute. I'm glad you had a break from the bitter cold. Blessings to all.

Hi Lumnah family! Al, I watched Dr Pol put in a metal bridge span with just him and his son. Very sturdy for mule and kabota, too. Hope those predator lights work for you. Ask Olivia to catalog those license plates (duplicates included). Then maybe you can post them, so everyone can see which ones you still need and those of us in states where there are already more than one license plate, will know not to send any more. Have you considered using Amazon's Wish List so that your supporters can see what things are needed on the homestead- easy purchase to have sent directly to you.

Great tip! Thanks for the idea! I always put my green onion root ends in a jar in my windowsill after I use the greens. The greens will regrow several times. (I'm totally going to try the celery thing! We only make a run to the store about every 3-5 weeks so keeping produce fresh during non growing season is important!)

Jonathan Bartron ~ I do that with almost everything: asparagus, lettuce, cilantro and other herbs, you name it. Some things get a "green bag" tent in addition to water on the roots and almost everything gets a paper towel blanket to keep condensation from forming on the leaves/stalks. It's amazing how long produce can stay fresh and crisp that way.

millerl333 weasel are way smaller. They are also white in the winter. They are smaller than a gray squirrel. We just had to trap 2 from around our children coop. This season we have trapped, bobcats, coyotes, fox, mink, marten, fisher, weasel, raccoon, and had to chase off timber wolves. The critter on camera was too big to be a weasel. We have been trapping pretty heavily the last few years because we had to many predators on our property. Little rascals just keep showing up! We had a timber wolf kill 4 birds this fall. Not to mention a bear that was becoming a real problem! I love your deck idea! That would be a great addition! Good thinking! 👍🏻

I think CWC showed us all a representation of FREEDOM and it resonated with so many people.

8:54 Yeah, burdock can be annoying but the root is good for many health issues.

We just made ham and potato soup this past weekend. It was a perfect use for the extra ham we froze from Christmas!

Al, just a FYI. The trick with the Nite Guard lights., its best to move them about once a month so that what you are trying to scare off don’t get wise to them.If left in the same spot all the time, the predators get used to them being there. If you move them around they don’t get used to them being in one spot. This is just my experience with them.

Suggestion: Place drinking buckets next to the inner wall 3' or more away from outer walls. That way they rarely freeze here in SW Michigan.

I'd like to hear about the plans. It's 34 degrees here but we don't have snow. We have mud and standing water with some green grass so it's like every other season but colder. I made sinigang which is Filipino sour soup and .y most favorite food. I added some country style rib meat and shredded it once it was cooked. Then I added my preferred souring agent which is a tamarind based seasoning blend. Also added broccoli, lettuce, turnips, and a tomato. I normally also add spinach, chard, okra, eggplant, and sometimes use a Daikon radish or regular radishes instead of turnips. Depends on which looks the best to me. It's a clear broth and normally eaten with rice but I try to limit grains so I mostly just add enough vegetables and eat it that way. Daniel mostly loves the green vegetables in it.
