awesome round Gabe! You were talking about accepting bad shots and just moving on... I always think of one of your early videos where you chipped out from under the trees onto the green and said something along the lines of hitting fairways are great, but having shots like that is what you play for. Every time I hit a bad shot now, I just think perfect chance for a great shot/recovery. Glad you still love the game so much

This is how I practice...get out on the course alone. No distractions, no conversations, nothing to think about but what you are doing. Seems I play better in front of the camera, I think because I plan out the shot for the viewers and have a clear, committed idea of what I'm trying to do. Congrats on your happy round! 16:04 when I was a wee lad 😎 my golf coach in the 1980’s told me the same thing about 18” past the hole on putts. I think I remember he said it was Jack Nicklaus who recommended that.

Great nine holes. It is a lot of fun when things go right. That putter is unreal for you. When you find something that works, and that putter works, you stick with it. I had a nine like that a couple of weeks ago. Shot a 43 on the front, which is normal for me and then went to the back with no expectations. I managed to shoot one under par 35 which is the first time since I was 19 that I shot a half round under par and the first time since (literally ) high school back in 1985 that I broke 80. The final hole in on this course is a 390 yard par 4 that is not a particularly easy one for a guy that takes the ball 225 off the tee. Needless to say I was pretty nervous. I really wanted that 1 under par. The greatest feeling is when you hit something perfectly under high pressure situations and I did it there. I nailed a six iron, slightly uphill from about 170 out and stuck it about 12 feet from the hole. I missed the putt by about an inch and a half and tapped in for that 35. I may never do it again but I know it was in me. Thanks for putting together a fun show. I truly enjoy watching you play. Whether you realize it or not you do inspire a lot of us 'mere mortals' who may not necessarily be the most exciting players but you are certainly more relatable to the masses than most in the KZbin universe. If you ever make it out to the Pacific Northwest I'd love to play a round of golf with you. Who knows, maybe we can play a round at my dad's place (The Founders Club) in Bradenton the next time I head down there.

Great advice also, btw. Especially the short memory, and trusting your swing. I ruined a great round at one of the toughest courses in NE WI (the bull at pine hurst farms), after holing out for eagle on the first par 5. I came to a longish par 3 with water right. I didn't want to aim right for my normal draw and ended long left in the tall grass. Found the ball, tried to hit it, and long story short, ended up with a 6. I would have been better off aiming right, even I hit it in the water.

The wife and I were able to get out together for 18 last weekend (first time in 10 years). I shot my best round (90). I had a birdie putt and of course 3 putted.🤦🏻‍♂️ pitched in for par from 60 yards.
