Hi Adam, I’m a 15 year old golfer who doesn’t ever leave YT comments. In the last year, I have taken my handicap from a 26 to a 7 but the most rapid improvement I have enjoyed has been as a result of watching your channel throughout the last 2 months, taking my handicap down from a 12 to a 7 by listening carefully to your tips. I recently carded a personal best of +1 through 18 and I am now breaking 80 consistently. Just wanna say thank you, you’re a seriously underrated channel in the space.

Yessir! 17yr old here and I can attest. I consistently shoot about 5 over par, +15 on my worst and even on my best. Shot -1 today for the first time. Keep it up mate, and remember lag putting and getting the line right make a a huge difference!

@@sinity8728 an easy thing to gain strokes with is set up and commitment. Good grip, good alignment, good posture etc. also a mindset to shots that isn’t outcome focused but processed focus. I pick a line and take a committed swing, not worrying about the outcome too much as I know the best results come when I am committed. A good mental game is so important at for scoring over a full 18, treat every shot with the same care despite emotion.

I watch this guy and Golf Sidekick, and it gives me hope. The one thing that both those guys are great at is, consistent ball striking. That takes practice and I hope to be there one day.

I think the whole "Not a Scratch Golfer" title becomes somewhat of a self-fulfilling prophecy at times. You could certainly be a scratch golfer, bro. Your drives are almost always down the middle, great approach game, and your putting is amazing.

Appreciate the vote of confidence, but I'm nowhere near the calibre of a scratch golfer. My index hovers between the low 5s and the high 8s, and I'd contend that the gap between a scratch and me is much wider than the gap between myself and a 15-20. Of my 1,300 recorded rounds, I've only played to a 0.0 or better differential one time. To be a scratch golfer, I'd have to do that 40%+ of the time. I'd venture to say that the meaningful gains for me to make are in the ball striking category, where I'm a loooooooong ways from scratch calibre, and that's still an understatement :p

Anyone giving grief about your swing doesn’t seem to realize you can have an unconventional swing as long as your contact is consistent. That’s what sets you apart from a lot of non scratch golfers/newbies that have odd swings. You still make contact consistently, and you know how to shape your shots with your swing. There’s no pictures on the score card as they say, and contact is king. At this point anyone saying anything about your swing is just jealous they can’t put up your numbers with their “textbook” swing.

The golf swing is what it is. It doesn’t matter how you get the ball there…. What matters is how many times you make videos with the exact same M. O. 😅 Loved the channel.

Just got back from a trip where I played this course twice. You managed the course impeccably! As a Vancouverite, I struggled mightily in the bermuda chipping and putting. And it's really a shame the south course, especially the bunkers, isn't better conditioned.

Hey Adam, hope your meet up goes well! I wish I could be golfing in sunny california. I came across your channel as I started my own road to scratch challenge on KZbin and started binging your content - especially the tournament vlogs in Vancouver, as I plan to enroll in my first tournament myself. Do you still live in Vancouver? Id love to play a match sometime if you’re down

Don't listen to people hating on your swing lol If you can hold a single digit handicap with your swing, more power to you. I've learned a lot from your videos when it comes to course management, and my scores have lowered.

Two words … Short game ☝🏻 Short game, short game, short game! But, yes, I get in trouble off the tee (as we all do), but … short game makes up for a lot of sins. What did I hear yesterday? 🤔 “70% of shots are hit within 14 yards of the hole” More good stuff 👊🏻 Title should be “play within yourself”

I'm sorry that you have had to get used to comments roasting your unconventional golf swing. 99% of us have unconventional swings. You do you man! Keep up the great videos and making a real difference on helping people understand course management and that you don't have to be perfect to shoot low scores.

I think if you can hit 10 GIR and have 32 or less putts you’re breaking 80 all day. That’s my big benchmark. It’s the one thing that stands out each time I break 80

Okay so your swing would be out to in correct ? Asking because I have a similar take away and I’m trying to change it up a bit but my original swing works good for me, went from 115+ my first year to 95-99 all last year (second season) first round out this year I shot 93 (took a few mulligans) so technically 97 but it felt great and I’m excited to get better
@golfplusbeer6312

Adam definitely swings in to out. He just has a very shallow, inside takeaway. But he returns the club to the ball on nearly the same line he took it back on. This is why he hits push draws. My two cents is for most people an inside takeaway is bad because it encourages them to return the club on a steeper line than they took it back on. They end up coming over the top and slicing it with an out to in swing. Some people are exceptions though and an inside takeaway helps them swing in to out. For me, when I want to hit a big draw I take the club a little inside because I have a tendency to return the club on the same path I went back on. All that matters is your face to path relationship at the moment of impact.

Very important to play from the appropriate tee box too many weekend golfers try to play from too far back! I’m 4.2 hdcp I will not play from more than 6600 yards do to my age 54 and I can no longer drive the as far as I used to my best drives now are about 280-290 , short game and putting are crucial to scoring well!
