For subscribers: I made the episodes into a film to reach a larger audience. There are some extra scenes added, as well as the story slightly changed but most is similar. You can skip if you’ve already watched the series.

@@mlgneo2855 vang vieng is the better of the two imo but it all depends on what you like 2 very different places. Vang vieng is a bit of a party town too. Old CIA airstrip there but it’s barely noticeable, there’s a bunch of markers on the sides of it

Very nice adventure into Laos. I went to Nong Kai, Vientiane, and Luang Probang about 15 years ago finding the guesthouse hosts were indifferent with me about being an American so I didn't venture out to the plain of Jars finding that might be awkward and embarrassing instead of interesting and fun. After 3 days in Luang Probang, I'd had it with communists so I got a flight to Chaing Mai, but not before being searched thoroughly and held 3 hours in the terminal. It was a relief to take off and land in Chaing Mai that day feeling freedom from feeling like I was in danger of being criminalized by the communists. Not to say all communist people are bad, but because the nationalistic people are anti-American. I had nothing to do with that secret war nor my foreign policy. It's crazy.

@@Worldofourown2024 thanks for sharing your experience mate, it must have been a whole different game 15 years ago. I know I always think it’s stupid the way people think after war, people did it with the Germans after WW2 same with Faulklands and British after that happened (mother and father had a similar experience in South America). I think emotions run hot after because people experienced hell there. Luckily it’s all cleared up now, no animosity from anyone I saw and most assume I’m French or American a lot of the time because of how they perceive those countries to look. You should take a trip back it should be much easier now. Cheers mate!
@Worldofourown202428 күн бұрын
@@wehatethecold Yes, I'd expect there's not as much harsh feelings today about the war as is the case with Vietnam. Cambodia was still creepy in 2008 when I went the first time where there was a sense of terror, but not terrorists nor bandits. It's unsettling how today there are so wars brewing in a garden of fear that is our brave new world from America to Europe to Asia. Most people don't want great troubles, but they're caused by evil agendas carried out by evil people in politics and business

I like that you don't put your camera in everybody's face. The videos looks more natural and show a lot of respect 🙏

I try to avoid it a lot because a lot of people don’t want to be on camera and you can tell when they don’t. Some people are completely fine and you can really tell when they are too. Hard to judge sometimes but when they don’t I always try to pull away and put it on my face instead

Wow! I don’t know that Laos have war too, they seem silent and controlled by the Vietnamese. No offence, but if those soldier have escaped into Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge might kill some too because of the civil war and also the Vietnamese invasion. It’s a sad story for Laos. I really interested and want to learn more from. Your adventures is inspiring and good to watch.
