Hey mate. I was watching a KZbin video on how to sharpen a knife if you haven't got a sharpener. Just use a china mug. At the bottom there is a rim that's not glazed, draw your knife across that bit and it will put an good edge on it. I have tried it and it works done a few knives today. Very good video as normal.

@@keepgoing1973 dont get asdas lime pickle, it is vile. I was given it as a substitute for Asda's mango Chutney..(which is nice, but not spicy like Geta's) I tasted a tiny bit from the jar and it went in the bin. That lime pickle was awful, and probably a insult to Indian Cuisine :(

Lot of people joke about the Iceland stuff, they do tend to like a gimmick but this is certainly one of the decent ones. Myself, I actually fancy trying these with their lamb burgers! Along with a few sides/additions, that'd make quite the burger stack and combo well, I reckon.

At a food fair, I saw a burger van, and opted for a Balti Onion Bhaji with Paneer and chilli jelly. £4.50, but that was cheap compared to their same size beef burgers that were £8!!!!! They also did a battered mushroom burger, but I was full after the bhaji one.

I agree it’s a gimmick, and I can’t imagine it on a burger bun like the serving suggestion, but they actually look really nice, especially with the mango chutney, and the price is very reasonable. I love bhajis, so I will give these a try the next time I am in Iceland.

I'd give these a go but with one of Aldi's frozen Waygu burgers. However, here's the thing (as Adrian Monk used to say), why is there added sugar in there? Four grams of the stuff!? When my missus makes bhajis at home, does she add sugar? Does she buggery! Great video, as always.

They look good Gareth. I will have to try these. But they do look just like vegetable pakora's really...just with more onion in them to give them a Bahji taste. Iceland use to do some really nice Balti Beef Burgers..they were lovely. One suggestion I can make as you love a good curry (I do too) is Asda's Lamb Rogan Josh, supposed to be a meal for two...but that would be a small meal for two. It does not come with Rice...Just the Curry. But a bag of Tilda Basmati rice goes nice with it. The Curry is £4 though. But still cheaper than a takeout..even if you do have to buy the rice seperate. Some reviews say that the lamb can be a bit fatty...but lamb is a fatty meat anyway..and it adds to the flavour. I love it. I had it for my tea last night.. I have whats left for a small curry in the fridge. You can always bulk it out with some veg I expect, to make it a larger portion for two. Goes lovely too with onion Bahji's and Naan bread..or podadams

I don't think there is alot of potato flakes in the bhaji as it is listed after the cotton seed oil. We have bhajis 2-3 times a week, they are dead easy to make and so tasty, we get the gram flour /chickpea flour / besan from asda KTC Superfine Gram Flour 2kg £2.50. Plenty of recipes on youtube with a wide variations some just using plain flour and baking powder. Red onions normaly stated as the best for bhaji making, asda have JUST ESSENTIALS by ASDA Red Onions 1kg for 65p and they are what we use mostly if in stock, Finely sliced season and then we scrunch them up with our hands to help them break down quicker. And yes we use instant potato flakes in our recipe, not much just enough to be a binder, it can also be used to firm up your batter mix if you make it to sloppy. Do not let the fry oil get to hot if you choose that cooking method as the outside will burn before the inside is cooked, don't make the fritters to thick ethier an inch at most 3/4 of an inch is what we aim for when frying in ghee and sunflower oil. Make sure to choose the right recipe to match your preffered cooking method, airfryer needs to be a thicker consistency to be self supporting while the batter for oil frying is looser as it will seize when it hits the oil and hold it's shape. If we see these in iceland i'll grab acouple of boxes and give then a go. That being said home made bhajis freeze really well and re quick and easy to reheat. Take care, God bless one and all.
