You won't believe what I caught in a crayfish net

In 40+ years of crayfishing I have never done this before. This was unbelievable and a major WOW moment for me.
I love crayfishing for so many reasons, from catching big crayfish, to the relaxation to the surprises that you get when you pull the crayfish net out of the water.
But this capture takes the element of surprise to a new level.
You wouldn't read about this. And you probably wouldn't believe me if I told you without seeing the video.

Melt down some led in flat pieces if you have it, then fold them around the net ring bit like drag nets to weight it down. Brilliant catch with the trout cod mate.

Thanks Chris. haha I was blown away. I rang my old man who has been crayfishing since the 1950s and he has never seen it done either. He did say that he caught a shag once. It must have been foraging for yabbies or something and got tangled in the cray net in Lake Mulwala back in the 1970s. .

Use chicken necks for bait leave them out for a day to get skanky and it will attract lots of Crays it works on blue crabs too

Hi Dennis, these are the double ring nets I just take the bottom hoop out and reduce the depth deliberately because I find it easier to use them off the bank like that. If all of my vraying was from a boat I would leave the bottom ring in. I just find they tangle more in their original condition.
