I love this project. I bought my first boat in 1988. It was a rough old Lowe Pontoon, but it had aluminum pontoons. I bought all the furniture and siding for an 88 Lowe from the pontoons up and that was my start. I had $5200 in a boat that was worth $12,000. I sold it after a few years and just kept trading up. I had jet skis too. There is nothing better than sitting on a pontoon that's like sitting in your living room, grilling, having some beers and taking a rip on a jet ski if the urge strikes. I never had runabouts or any fiberglass boat for that matter, but a 28' tritoon with a 250 horse 4 stroke is no slouch, I can vouge for that. This boat is making quite a story, keep up the great work!

FYI That nipple ( inverted) on that bottle was how we used to make extra baby bottles for feeding and carrying on trips, there was a plastic round cap that sealed the inverted nipple to seal until use !!!
@davidseslar57982 жыл бұрын
Here usually "inverted" means 'removed and reversed' and not 'pushed inside-out'. Many of us 'carbide cavers of the '70s and earlier used baby bottles as a cheap dry carriers for calcium carbide for our carbide lights & reversed the nipples as the gasket. This was before Nalgene bottles escaped the labs for their now-ubiquitous outdoor use.

Klamath Falls Oregon use to have a drag boat regatta once a year when I lived there. (many years ago) One time a guy was showing off while leaving the dock area, he nailed the throttle, the propeller pulled all of the water out from under his boat, then the engine died! The wake climbed into the back of the boat, and it sunk right there. It was amazing how they got it out of the water though. They hooked a line to the bow, (that was still sticking out of the water,) a man climbed onto the bow, and they started to pull it with another boat. The boat started to come out of the water, and in the process a lot of water went over the stern. Then the guy that was on the boat climbed to the stern and took out the drain plug. They then just towed it around until all of the water was out of the boat. They changed the oil, removed all of the spark plugs cranked all of the water out of the cylinders dried out the fuel system, and had it running within 2 hours. I was impressed.
@frigglebiscuit74842 жыл бұрын
@@Rat-Builder that similar fix happened to my uncle once. my dad was with him and my uncle forgot to put the drain plug in, and water started coming over the transom. my dad told him to floor it, and it pulled all the water out of the back, and they drove right back to the trailer.

This series with the finale is one of the most powerful I have ever seen on YT because I was casually following the low Lake Powell water level videos on YT through/after Covid. I saw this boat in so many videos. And to have you'all rebuild it and then the truly epic story from the previous owner, so much is tied up in this boat.
