Doug, is the concept of amount of big blinds still the same when only the big blind puts in an ante of the amount as 1 big blind? Aren't the blinds just 100k/400k but differently displayed? Does Chidwick have 23bb or 11.5bb?
@clemensvb5 жыл бұрын
Would be a great call on day 1 or 2 of the tournament. But what makes it truly fantastic is that it is on the biggest final table with huge payjumps on the line. Being able to have so much trust in your game under pressure makes all the difference between good and world class players.
@Gos12345675 жыл бұрын
Plus the usual flop bluffs got there on the turn,QT,KT,KQ,AQ.Like there aren’t many bluffs left in Vs range by the river. This has to be an exploitative call as against GTO. I’d love to see this in a solver,I think a solver would say fold
@clemensvb5 жыл бұрын
@@Gos1234567 probably easy to overbluff this spot in this exact scenario also, but yeah generally agree
@MrBongoking5 жыл бұрын
Great hand. Question about Doug’s commentary: he says that in this final table ‘you should call the bigger stacks lighter’, which I thought means less often, then he says they are more likely to be bluffing. Isn’t that a contradiction? I understood that they have less to lose than you, so the EV of your call is much lower than it would be in a cash game. Is that what Doug means and I was just a bit confused about the way he said it? Or was he saying they bluff more often so you should in fact call more often?

It was a good bet on the turn the board makes it possible for him to have KT for the nut str8 and the possibility for him to have a Qx to turn a better pair or even better. I think he is going to fold everything except for top pair and better. Basically when he goes all in on the river he is just reppin the strong hands he was playing on the turn
@Gos12345675 жыл бұрын
Yea I think if he bet bigger on the turn he gets a fold as he hasn’t many bluffs left in his range after the Q falls. Maybe this guy bluffs way too much and Chadwick knows that

For me,the Key card here is the Q on the turn. Rajkumar bets 800k and its more of a tester bet..than a value Bet. And then he goes All In on the River..on a brick 6. It makes no sense. It's a "push you of the hand" bet. So the call by Chidwick is not too hard to defend or understand. 🙂
@josezaragoza15945 жыл бұрын
You sound like a guy who will never fold AK after flopping top pair with a safe run out
@yourmaninlondoncollecting57495 жыл бұрын
@@josezaragoza1594 @José Zaragoza it's about understand what goes on with the cards. Not nessaserely what you have in your hand. When Rajkumar bets 800K he is testing the water. If he was strong..he would bet more,to protect hes hand. As he is NOT strong..he cant. He is trying to find out where Chidwick is at. When Chiwick calls..he know Chidwick DOES have something. Then Rajkumar tries to represent..realy Nothing by going All In on the River. Why go all in on a Brick card that dont match anything.. Unless you try to scare the other player of hes hand..... Chidwick understands this and Calls. The blind level dictates the action really. The more expensive it is..the tighter players in general gets. Easy analytics,if you know your poker.

The problem is that this is not a convincing enough bluff... What hand would Rajkumar be going all in with for value on the river? QQ, JJ or QJ, I believe he would have checked after the flop and/or turn. K10 or 66 I believe he would have bet stronger after the flop? So what is he repping with his all in? I guess it just didn't add up one way or the other. Maybe Raj would have got the fold if he had faked a value bet on the river, betting say 1.2 million??
