KZbinrs want you to believe that you can be fluent in any language in a very short time. This is dangerous and toxic. It's better to start with a high dose of reality.
Keywords: Fluent in 3 months, 7 days, 24 hours, Xiaoma, Benny Lewis.

Más vídeos porfa 🙏. incluso si solo eres tú hablando de diferentes temas. Tu voz es muy claro y está buena entrenamiento par mis oídos. Gracias para la lección.

Exactly. I can’t stand influencers who preach that they learned to be fluent in three months. One guy is always saying “I learned by mastering verb conjugations quick”, but even then that doesn’t mean you magically speak fluidly. There’s so much more to learning a language. Your recommendations provide a healthy reminder to 1) work hard to achieve fluency, and 2) you WILL reach fluency with time

i love videos like this bc I really struggle with feelings of self doubt and thinking that I am not learning fast enough, or as fast as others and maybe I am too stupid to ever speak fluent Spanish. I have been studying on average 1-2 hours a day for about a year now. I understand this video perfectly and I am currently reading the 6th Harry Potter book. My speaking is pretty bad, and I still struggle to understand natives in real life scenarios. I still worry that I am learning slowly, but at this point I don't care. I just really want to speak Spanish lol.

THANK YOU!! Your videos are incredible, some of the best I have seen on my journey to learn spanish. This video is very encouraging, it is not easy to learn a language and it takes time, practice, hard work and dedication. Its totally worth it though. Thank you again, and please keep up the excellent work!

Traditional studying of grammar rules and memorizing words is a shortcut to production, not understanding. Thanks for a dose of reality! Sometimes I feel frustrated.

I was given the opportunity to go into a near immersion program to learn to speak French. I had morning, afternoon, and evening classes. The program was 8 weeks in length. I could not handle it, and after two weeks, I was out of there! The struggle and frustration was real. I tried, but I can honestly say that method did not work for me. The department’s expectation was for you to be at intermediate level by the time the two months was over.

Great video and debunking of the trove of nonsense on other YT channels. FYI, FSI level 5 corresponds to native, university graduate level fluency. Many "native speakers" don't even score a 4 on FSI testing - due to an inability to demonstrate mastery of complex subject matter and correct useage.

My guess is that around 1500 hours of comprehensive input and the instant command of 5000 words one could consider fluency achieved. Then the rest of their lives learning to gain fluency at a level beyond the basics. Much like learning a musical instrument.

I totally agree with speaking is more important than listening, because if we can speak well, actually we have the ability of listening, inputting is the base for outputting
