@@DerekLMcAllister Without God we can define our on meaning. Which is what has been happening. The reality is that human history is in part people defining what dreams and ideas should define society. What should we create. Confucius tried to make a better world. He developed an ethical system based on duties. His aim was to lessen conflict and to make people happy. Early Chinese emperors adopted his system so that they did not have to use as much coercion. Xeno developed an ethical system based on learning knowledge and self control. Marx, Proudon, Edmund Bourke saw society and they developed competing ideas of how it should be better. The ability to create meaning is a freedom that makes humanity what it is
