Yeah man tell me about it. But if you can play double pedal 16th notes for at least 160 bpm then you’re two feet is faster than his one feet cause if he’s two feet is 300 bpm for 16th notes his one feet 16th notes will only be a 150 so yeah get to 160 you’ll be fine

It's even more amazing that he says he mainly does it to keep timing correct. Like how the hell do you even swivel feet that fast & remember to keep time while you're blasting away. Amazing drummer-he has a 7min jazz jam on YT that really shows his chops in a whole different awesome way than death metal.

He's good. Insanely good. I actually rolled my eyes at one point because I didn't know how else to react. He plays clean and his technical ability is outstanding. But then he goes and throws in a mind blowing seemingly simple but stupefying detail like the pattern/double he plays on the left-hand ride in the part at 3:53.

If drumming is like speaking, then each genre is a different language. Blastbeats is Nile’s dialect. A jazz drummer can’t do blastbeats, it’s not in his vocabulary. And vice versa. If one has the time to learn another language, great. But I think a silent appreciation for another’s skill is better than insulting each other for speaking a different language, right? ...be cool, not a tool. 🙂

For those who thing "all he is is fast" look how damn hard he is hitting (hands & feet) compare this to 90% of the other drummers out there who try to play this tempo (Braindrill drummer is a perfect example) and this man is so far ahead of them in skill. He can confidently play this speed, and control anything up to this speed which is incredible. I don't think there is any other drummer on his level of death metal drumming.

Thank you for saying this! I saw them last year headlining at the Cabooze in Minneapolis. There were a few pretty damn good death metal bands before them, and all the drummers used triggers. I helped my buddy get his kit off the stage (one of the opener band drummers) and he and I both were so stoked to hear George. He shows up, mic'ed up only, and had faster and harder kicks and blastbeats than anyone there by a mile. I'm convinced he's a demigod

The first three drummers all had triggers. He blows them out of the water for speed mic'ed up and blast blastbeats not only faster but louder than all the rest. His kicks are on a nuclear level and his blast beats are god-tier. What an amazing creature!

Boy, does this type of drummer get dumped on by these jazz fanatics. Obviously, the 2 aren't companionable so why bother critiquing a metal drummer through the ears of a jazz fan? It's just stupid to judge based on that criteria. Ultimately, the only way to compare drummers would be to have a great jazz drummer challenged to master, say, this and George to master a jazz piece. Now that would be interesting. That would be a fair way to critique them both, no? To deny these guys of their talent is stupid and ignorant. It's like me saying that that jazz guy couldn't play a blast beat or at 250bpm if his life depended on it. No duh, he's a Fucking jazz artist!

+schlooonginator I have the opposite question - what's the point of judging musicians by their technical abilities? They are MUSICians not TECHNICians. OMG he can blast beat at 102930 bpm - he's a an amazing drummer. This shit offend me as a drummer. Is the guy that can hammer nails with bare hands deserve to be called an amazing carpenter just for this? Fuck no.

People must now nothing of common logic. HOW CAN YOU PLAY AT HIGH SPEEDS WITHOUT TRIGGERS ITS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE. Also triggers are more exact so if your off beat it's easy to tell versus regular bass is a little more muddy. Also they use triggers because they are playing so fast the beater doesn't have time to fully go back and get enough inertia or force to make a loud sound, there is barely any time to take the beater back in that amount of milliseconds at high speeds. So the trigger makes it audible.
@The218nexion
@The218nexion 9 жыл бұрын
xseq xqwe Sebastian techchannel Triggers are used for sound, not speed. Without triggers it would sound like splashing mud. So triggers make it audible but have nothing to do with skill or speed of the drummer.

Are you forgetting about quality of drums and pedals? You CAN drum that fast with practice and the right equipment. The quality of a drum can also distinguish how it sounds, how long the notes resonate, so think before you say he is amazing at what he does and made something of it, he became a legend and a hero to drummers including myself.

Most of you in this post are not correct. George doesn't use triggers. He is all power and precision. The clarity that you hear is from the gate and compression ratios, along with EQ. Every time George kicks, the beater comes back a full 45 degrees. He is a machine that uses skill instead of technologies. Watch any of his clinics, and he talks about the non-use of triggers specifically. He shows people in person how to get the sound and speed that he does. He developed the "circle" technique to aid in his playing to keep himself balanced, yet provide power and speed with the use of efficiency of motion.
