@@AngS-c3r Well, I cannot confirm it, I haven't read the light novel of this show, and probably never will. This is a topic mentioned in many places discussing the anime. And one reason many belive Tanya eats panzer-chocolate (that was the nickname of the stuff in WW2) is because of the anime's absurd attention to detail. To put it simple, the Tanya's budget is not that high. But the creators made the bold descision of cutting costs at generic and meaningless shots to add more funds for more detail oriented shots. To result was an anime, where at one scene you see horrible CGI battles, and in the next scene a beautifully drawn conference room. And one of these high-budgets part of the anime was the historical accuracy. Eerything from the guns, the vehicles, uniforms, to the chairs, tables and dishes you see are historically accurate. So people say Tanya might take soilder drugs, because it is a common thing in modern warfare and the creators must know it knowing their depth of expertiese.

In my point of view all the war scens were beautiful the platoons where super and all over the place but you never lost site about where everyone was on the war map. Explosions and gunfire optically and the sound was great. I believe the animation in this anime is top notch...

@@AngS-c3r since i have only read the light novel i can infact confirm that during her first combat in norden when she goes all nuts she did basically pump hersdelf up using combat drugs. due to being a mage her magic keeps her mind clear despite being hyped up on combat drugs. and during volume 1 she even mentions that aerial mages makes use of pervitin, essentially meth, during extremely long operations much like the Luftwaffe did in WW2.

Also, the "shows no mercy" part is factually incorrect even in the anime. She gives everyone she fights a chance to surrender, and often gives them a chance to flee: for example, she was happy to ignore Colonel Sue at the Osfjord battle and let him run away and live, but HE chose to come screaming after HER. And she got the guys killed because they endangered their fellow soldiers and then were insubordinate against her. Both of which were capital offenses in the WW1 German army.
