I’m the Mrs. Rundle. On out last trip to YS NP, Steve was deep interesting work, parked taking advantage if WI at the lodge. I angrily drove off to see some park! Found a pull up picnic area, almost empty, found a shade table deep in woods. Pulled out the tuna, hard boiled eggs, cashews and crackers, oh and green grapes. Though frowned on, I ended up having a LARGE raven for company, he stood on opposite bench and politely took every little bit of lunch I put over for him. Never enjoyed the company of a raven before. Most CHARMING. Anger all gone, blessed was all I felt.

Phil gets our vote. We were side swiped by a semi in August. We lost everything. Our truck and a brand new Winnebago Voyage. The camper was flipped on it's side across I-77 in NC. Traffic was shutdown for an hour. Our accident caused two more accidents. Thankfully we were okay and our dogs survived. The semi did not stop. However, the State Police got him at the next weigh station. We got lucky. The dash cam looks like a win to us! Stay safe out there.

Actually there are not five but six entrances to YNP. The little known Bechler entrance on the Fall River and the bottom SW corner of the park. You have to enter via Ashford ID and end up on a 10 mile long gravel road with the worst washboard of any road we have ever been down. And we have driven a lot of washboarded roads over the years. There is a nice USFS CG at the end, Falls Creek CG and the actual spectacular Falls themselves which would be very well known if they were only more accessible. Then there is Bechler Ranger Station which is mainly an equestrian center and a trails hub. You can walk to Old Faithful from there. There are several other big falls in the area. We were the only visitors at the time. It turns out that the FS has no budget for recreation, thus the horrible condition of the roads. While we are at Mud Volcano this summer I spotted a teen aged boy waist deep in an dry inactive thermal feature, inactive at the moment but steaming. I started yelling at him and them saw his Father doing the same from much farther away. The Kid did get out.
