I've been following you for the last couple of months. I know every couple has their ups and downs, but seem to get along. I'm planning on buying a super c in the not to far future. I'll be turning 73 in the not to far distant future. I want to travel the U S and be able to see in person some of beautiful places you've been before time comes to a end. Both of you have been extremely knowledgeable. God Bless and safe travels.

We took a early morning float trip down the river and a guided wildlife tour, both ways are great for seeing the wildlife in the area. Since we did that several years ago I’m now hooked and own spotting scopes so we can stop anywhere and spot (glass) the terrain. You’d be surprised at what all wildlife you can find. Binoculars will find some wildlife but nothing beats glassing the side of a mountain with a good spotting scope!! Oh and our guide showed us Moose, up close and personal not 200 yards from where y’all are standing in your picture out in front of the old barn.

Another great video from our favorite KZbinrs. I think the Grand Tetons are the most beautiful mountains in the U.S., primarily because of the way they rise straight up from the surrounding plain. I love the town of Jackson. Have overnighted there many times during my corporate pilot flying career after retiring from the Army. There was a restaurant I enjoyed that specialized in bison, elk, and venison steaks. Not cheap, but delicious.

If you go to Yellowstone in peak season, I recommend doing the tours. That way you aren't driving, so even your hubby can look around and enjoy the beauty, you don't have to worry about parking at the different sights, you just step off go view whatever and hop back on. Doing the tours is expensive yes, but for peak season it is totally worth it, you just get to sit back, relax watch the views and enjoy talking and spending that time with your family, not stressing over maps, directions, roads and such.

Second that. Pre-COVID, we did a full day Yellowstone tour in a comfortable van, 10 passengers plus guide and driver. It left out of Jackson at dawn and returned after dark. Very memorable wildlife moments, both near and far. (The guide was great at spotting for us. Wouldn't have seen nearly as much driving.) Minimal hassle at sights like Old Faithful, where the guide knew how to work everything to our benefit. It was not cheap, over $100 per person, but well worth it. IMO, the park is so big that it's not conducive to "winging it".

Thank you both for this video on the Tetons. I first saw it a while back, before we started our RV adventure. We are currently near Lava Hot Springs Idaho, on our way to Teton and Yellowstone. Would you happen to have the GPS coordinates to your camping spot at the Tetons, or a name of the road you stayed on? We would love to check it out if possible. Have seen a picture of the Winter snow there. It is a lot to shovel. Wild life seems to know when to find a Winter home. Our experience of the Teton area is similar to what you show in the video. Jackson is hopping, but the Tetons were just a wonderful view. There is more to the park .... diving, fishing, padding rafting ...... lots to do. You just have to have a plan to do it. We have only seen the absolutely great view. Next time we will do better.

@robertroth287
@robertroth287 4 жыл бұрын
I may be wrong, but my understanding is that the PSI will drop about a pound for every 10 degree drop in temperature. This is basically because the air takes up less space when it is cold. Bottom line is that you can run the risk of over inflating your tires by just using the TPMS to determine your pressure.. The TPMS should reflect the true pressure after the tires heat up. Enjoyed the video; safe travels.
@todayissomeday
@todayissomeday 4 жыл бұрын
The TPMS does not set our tire pressure. It is determined by our 4 corner weights and the Michelin RV tire chart. Phil sets the pressures and when they are too low or high based on altitude or temps we adjust them using the digital gauge. Tire pressure are set cold not hot. For those who need more info check out our blog: blog.todayissomeday.net/4-corner-rv-weigh/#.X5W4dy9h2L8

@@todayissomeday Thanks for the reply.......I understand what you do as I do the same thing. The point is that when it is that cold outside, it shows a lower pressure reading than what is actually present. I apologize for not explaining my point clearly but this link should help: www.lesschwab.com/article/tpms-light-coming-on-in-cold-weather-heres-why.html

I have the TST TPMS and I love it!! Prior to leaving (as I’m still a weekend warrior) I turn on he TPMS and it checks my truck tires and travel trailer tires. Then while driving, it keeps track of all tires and will alert to a slow leak and/or a “fast dump” of air. I think everyone should have a TPMS!! One of my “must visits” is the Grand Tetons. Every RVrs channel that’s shown the GT’s have been amazing!!

We pulled our Airstream to Grand Teton and Yellowstone from San Antonio, TX back in August. Temps were great but we had more haze from the fires. Plenty of wildlife on our trip. We hiked the 8 miles around Jenni Lake and got to see two black bears. One was eating berries about 40 meters away and the other was seen swimming in Jenni Lake. The best encounter though was on the same trail we had to cow moose without calves walking on the trail with us in the opposite direction. So we had to back track a ways to get out of their way. Yellowstone; we had lots of buffalo on the drive in and where we stayed at in Gardiner, MT we had elk in the campground one night. Down in the Teton's we stayed in Gros Ventre campground and spotted a cow moose with calf one morning too. We absolutely loved it up there and will be going back again. Jackson was a nice town as well just extremely touristy.

I didn't like the grey creeping in either. I had a full beard and longish hair when I was in my 20. Shortened the hair but kept the beard until I saw some grey. I kept the side burns till the grey. I had done a buzz cut once in the 90's when I went camping with my sons cub scout den. When the grey started on top, I went to buzz cut full time. Got an electric hair clipper & have been doing it myself for close to 10 years. I'll be 63 in January.

I’m glad you enjoyed your time in the area, there’s no place like it!! We’ve been here workamping since September, 2019. We are going to stay another winter then leave for the summer and travel. You need to come back in the Spring when all the bears come back out, or come back in the winter and enjoy everything the area has to offer. There were right at 9,000 elk in the refuge last winter. Here at the campground we routinely have moose all year long, the elk should start passing through soon. Come back!! BTW it’s going to be -11 in the morning. :)
