@@youmightbeadnd Mtg decks that are solid green don't usually have flying or reach creatures, and you have to have flying or reach inorder to block a flying creature, so green decks can sometimes just get absolutely abused by flying creatures

It does feel like a shame there is no ability to have projectiles and debris orbit you as a shield or magazine. Still pretty cool.

I mean every wizard already has Shield. To be honest, ranged attackers really aren't an issue. Just because you don't have a specific ability to nope ranged attacks, doesn't mean you can't handle people at a distance. A wizard that specializes in just noping melee enemies is insanely powerful. Also asking that it deals with ranged enemies at the same time is just blatantly overpowered. If you need to deal with enemies at a distance you can pick up Temporal Shunt, which is basically counterspell, but for everything and only costs a reaction. It's technically not a gravity spell, it's a time spell, but they're under the category of Dunamancy and wizards can learn spells outside their school just fine, so technically it doesn't matter. Fireball is also an option, wind wall is a thing, wall of force is a thing. Speaking of, this class makes it viable for a wizard to cast wall of force, trap a brawler in a force dome, and then say "You're trapped in here with me!" and be able to back it up. 10 outta 10 subclass.

@@bthsr7113 you can still flavor your shield spell to be orbital rocks, you can flavor mage armor to be a field of gravity that redirects attacks and orbits projectiles like arrows. If your DM is cool with it you can even catapult those arrows on your turn. Again, doing something in a mechanic doesn't only have the requirements of "making sense". This kinda thing is what player agency is for. You want the orbital stuff mechanically? You're a wizard. Homebrew a spell. Get the dm to approve it, adjust until you have a balanced spell. This is a tabletop role playing game. Start lifting your half of the couch.

I just finished a campaign this week, where I played a Half-Orc Graviturgist. Yes, she was inspired by Elphaba and I'm not apologising. Was some of the most fun I had, but I was given maybe a wee bit too many spell books to copy from. Choice paralysis is a pain XD Also, she became infamous for KO-ing enemies by yeeting her dagger at them XD

So we just decided "You know what, might as well lean into it". Ended the campaign was *18* total dagger yeet kills, one being my character's nemesis XD

If the range is the problem then you could just take some levels into rogue or monk so that you can move towards the enemy and basically crush them with your event horizon ability. If you are now sceptical because wizard usually don't have a high amount of hit points you could just take the though feat to compensate.

I love the concept of a wizard that fucks with gravity especially because there's something in the real world that if you could control, could actually literally let you have this sort of gravity magic type shit with that being dark matter which if I remember correctly makes up like either 60 or even upwards of 90% of the total matter in all of the universe but currently we don't have a way to actually study it because either it's moving way too fast with far too little actual ability to interact with regular matter that we literally just don't have good enough detectors to actually 'see' it yet or some other reason as to why it just flat out does not interact with regular matter in any way that we can detect other than it's massive effect on gravity. Honestly it's pretty fucking cool thinking of a dude being able to conjure dark matter into existence and manipulate it in order to manipulate the gravity around people and it could also count for how one could even increase a person's density or lower it at least comparatively to their surroundings...

Beyond that, I also think that if you get a robe of coming to fence so that way you can add your intelligence modifier to your AC and take a singular level into monk for their unarmed defense which adds both your dexterity and your wisdom modifier to a base level of 10 for your AC meaning if you dump strength and charisma possibly even both down to six, you could have probably around about 14 to maybe even 16 dexterity as well as 17 and 16 wisdom meaning you could theoretically get plus 15 to your base 10 AC boosting your AC up to 25... Throw in the fact that now your fists can also be used as simple unarmed weapons and you can bonus attack meaning you basically get a free extra attack and especially if your DM lets you make magic gloves that imbue your fists with the power of your gravitargy magic that perhaps that later level is even can have a minor repelling blast effect meaning even if you get dogpiled, you're not going to have any issues and are going to be the ultimate fucking Dodge tank as you just unleash gravity magic on anyone and everyone around you...

Unfortunate details of Gravity Well: It doesn’t work with magic missile, as magic missile has neither saving throws nor attack rolls. Secondly, because of the “when you cast” condition, you can’t use hold person and bloodbend people 5 ft each turn. The wording is also very unclear on whether it works with AOE.

This damage is sick. Its the ultimate aoe damage just sucking people in a black hole and making them dead . Like YMBA said. Will make character s go what the f was that?! I started to do something like this but with a cleric of the night who was a ligjt in the dark but also could snuff out the light. I did not want to.do the old fear shadows in the dark so I researched other aspects of the night and came up with something similar to this mixing the coldness of space and the power of gravity. This night cleric is actually a druid type that might be the closest in power to a cleric that I have seen yet. I was going to sprinkle in 1st and 2nd level cleric spells a 6th and 7th level to show the transcendence but they would be super weak. So my druid does positive/radiant energy instead of fire or lightning damage at 1st level.

People need to seriously consult me about the names of these classes lol. So im going to tell you guys about a class we invented that can run laps around a gravatarg...whatever. And the name is easier to say. The class of Momentist. The momentist can use any form of momentum at their disposal. Inertia, centrifugal force, force spells and telekinesis, even gravity can be manipulated by the Momentist. Want to live out your superhero fantasies about using the barometric pressure inside your foes to "pop" them? The Momentist is the class for you. 👍

Wizard can already cast fly or get/create a flying object pretty easily at that level. Would be nice but it's also already covered.

@@stillatwork Oh I know, but they can only do it for ten minutes at a time and it requires concentration. So it's use in and out of combat is limited. And flying objects like brooms or carpets you can be dismounted from... flying shoes are good but the time limit is two hours of flight time in twelve hours, making it good for combat but not for travel. Would be nice if there was a baked in class for wizards that could fly as well as sorcerers.
