I found a good guide in order to chance the oil of my 675 finally. Thank you. The strange thing it's that the mechanic put 2,8 liter and it's over the max.

Hey, thanks! :) Are you testing it on level ground and warming up the bike and then letting it cool, then testing it?

I loved the K&N filters til one day one of the rivets on the top of the filter bust on me and started dripping oil onto my pipes while riding. It was nothing catastrophic but since then I will only use OEM filters.

The most important thing the manual could tell you about checking a dipstick is sidestand or upright, and threaded or not threaded. Some bikes require you to push the dipstick to the threads but not screw it in, some ask you to screw it in.

Good idea to point that out, thanks!

I have just purchased a 2008 Triumph Street Triple 675 R and the instructions are to change the oil upright not on the side stand. Not sure if this changed from 2008 to 2009. Thanks for the video instructions. Super helpful!

Nice video. You only forgot 1 thing. You have to put some oil in your new filter before you install your filter. Just take the filter, put it full with oil, let it absorb for a few seconds and install it. That way the oil will go faster into you engine when you start her up.
@YouMotorcycle4 жыл бұрын
The service manual doesn't say to do that.
@Striple4 жыл бұрын
@@YouMotorcycle I know. If you don't do that it will take longer for the oil the reach all parts of your engine, because it is empty. With some oil already in your filter you minimize that procedure. It is a tip.. do as you like

Nice video, Adrian. I`m changing mine tomorrow. Could you just clarify one thing: when you`re draining the oil- you put it on a side stand, and you fill it in, you put it straight up, right?
@YouMotorcycle4 жыл бұрын
You got it. Most bikes want to be straight up the entire time, on this one because of the drain bolt location you can drain on the side stand if you want to and then refill straight up.

@@HippoDrones I bought the service manual for the 765, here are the instructions for changing the oil: 1) Warm up the engine thoroughly, and then stop the engine and secure the motorcycle in an upright position on level ground. 2) Place an oil pan beneath the engine. 3) Remove the oil drain plug. 4) Unscrew and remove the oil filter using service tool T3880313 - Oil Filter Wrench. Dispose of the old oil filter in an environmentally friendly way. 5) Apply a smear of clean engine oil to the sealing ring of the new oil filter. 6) Fit the oil filter and tighten to 10 Nm usingT3880313 - Oil Filter Wrench. 7) After the oil has completely drained out, fit a new sealing washer to the drain plug. Fit and tighten the plug to 25 Nm. 8) Fill the engine with a 10W/40 or 10W/50 semi or fully synthetic motorcycle engine oil that meets specification API SH (or higher) and JASO MA, such as Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 (fully synthetic). 9) Start the engine and allow it to idle for a minimum of 30 seconds. 10) Ensure that the low oil pressure warning light remains off and the oil pressure message is not visible in the instrument display screen. 11) Stop the engine and check the oil level. Adjust if necessary. Cautions: 1) Raising the engine speed above idle before the oil reaches all parts of the engine can cause engine damage or seizure. Only raise engine speed after running the engine for 30 seconds to allow the oil to circulate fully. 2) If the engine oil pressure is too low, the low oil pressure warning light will illuminate. If this light stays on when the engine is running, stop the engine immediately and investigate the cause. Running the engine with low oil pressure will cause engine damage.

If you’re going by the book in the manual like you say you are I just called the dealer and they said the manual says 2.6 with the oil filter so you’re putting too much oil in the motor

On the road right now so I can't check, but check the link in the description. I'm pretty sure in the article, I have a screen shot of the service manual. Could be the dealer looked up the wrong year.
