Well Sam, 60 yrs apart, but you and I share a lot: Decani treble, horn player, piano/organ, left choir school for senior school at 13! The Messiah was always an Xmas highlight during my six yrs at the Abbey, but for me the biggest of all was the Allegri Miserere. Perhaps a lay clerk at some cathedral soon for you, eh?

They all have to ‘retire’ at the end of year 8, whether or not their voices have changed. In fact, less than a year later his voice has now gone down an octave or two!
