Wow, that was quite a journey for it's first flight

When "Rocket" takes to the air, that will feel like a real triumph. With the way he overcame being bullied out of being fed, his survival to become a fledgling is a struggle I have cheered on.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I really thought the smaller of the two wasn’t going to make it bc he couldn’t get to the food. And I also cannot believe how big they have gotten, and how quickly! The sweetest thing I have observed so far, not to say there weren’t others, but that I actually was able to catch, was one night when it was raining heavy, Gabby sat in the nest with them all night long, holding her wings open enough to cover each of them! I just loved that. I’m also super glad they posted this video, as I noticed the other day, the one getting really “restless” and hopping around in the upper branches, flapping his wings. I knew it was gonna happen soon, but I missed it!

Wow. I've been keeping up with this nest and young eagles since they were little gray fuzzballs. It seems within the last week or two I've seen them flap their wings and even become airborne for a second or two. When I saw this this morning (this video) I was thrilled! I've seen a pair of hawks train their young one how to fly before. One kept an overwatch, circling above while the other glided through the air with their young one frantically flapping its wings following it. (At first, I thought it was another smaller bird chasing it away, until I saw the two flying in the opposite direction and noticed the adult mate circling above.)

I happened to see a grown eagle (can't remember if it was the same cam or some other eagle cam), and it looked like it was getting ready to take flight, but then, yep, BIG POOPOO!!! It was literally a stream, and it really caught me off guard! Wishing I had a video of that! An eagle taking a dump, right next to the camera!🎥🦅💩🤣
