Agree!! May victim's soul rest in peace, but the details that "only the killer would know" didn't seem like details only the killer would know! It seemed like normal details a war vet witness would notice. He knows guns and shooting angles and he may have just been too enthusiastic about sharing his theories on what happened.
@gardensofthegods Жыл бұрын
Yes that was scary the way they all decided he must have done it . I have a weird feeling the reason he told so much of his theory is because maybe in the back of his mind he thought the police would somehow tell his bosses are the head of the security company that the guy really knows his stuff and should get a promotion ... I know that sounds weird but the guy was afraid he'd get blamed for the murder but didn't think that giving all that information could make him look guilty . He made his worst nightmare come true ... that's why I think somewhere in the back of his mind he was looking for some kind of praise for figuring out how the crime went down . Poor guy lost 11 years of his life because he didn't keep his mouth shut
@gardensofthegods Жыл бұрын
What's also scary and clearly dangerous is the fact that it seems the detectives have not yet done a DNA swab from the gang member guy in the car next to hers who had a history of carjacking had even stolen a car like hers and even had the same type gun that killed her . Why haven't they done the DNA test ... maybe they have ? Guess I'm going to have to research this . Once they are able to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that this guy was innocent when somebody else shows up on the DNA test this security guard would qualify for a major lawsuit and payout

If your company trained you in first aid cpr then you have a duty to use it. There are state local laws in place and you should educate yourself before you find yourself in a bad place: I believe this guy should have done cpr/first aid but did not due to his experience in the military and belief that the woman would die either way. We should all understand that if we are first on scene to a murder we will be a likely suspect. He and his family need to be reimbursed for them taking 12 years of his life on this case. This infuriates me. THANK GOD for the new lawyer and his vigilant son! They give me a glimmer of hope for the justice system. This show dropped the ball on this one, because after they show Ray is acquitted, they STILL connote that he might be guilty, just to make the story interesting. This was written very poorly and irresponsibly. They owe him an apology for this segment in my opinion. Lastly, as tragic as this was for the murder victim and her family, the father gets little sympathy from me. He would actually see this Ray go to prison, destroying his life, his fiance and his 5 children's lives. All to make him feel good. Mentioning that Ray only made minimum wage was rude, unnecessary and very telling of his classism. Ray served his country in the military and is a war veteran and busted his ass in an evening job to make money for his family. There is NO evidence Ray the security guard committed this crime. None. As horrible as it is I hope somebody can learn something from this story . Pay attention to what your intuition is telling you and respect that intuition . People coming to meet you in the evening you should tell them if they're not there by a certain time ( early and in daylight ) forget it, it will have to be rescheduled . And most importantly try to meet at the police station or police station parking lot to sell things . Maybe also upon first communicating with prospective buyers tell them you need to see their valid driver's license ... and make sure text or send a copy of it to someone you trust in case something happens to you

Why? Don't confuse detective work with courts. The police just points out the suspect, it up to the courts to decide, BASED ON EVIDENCE GIVEN, if the detectives got the right or wrong person. In this case there was no BAD detective work. In some I've seen there were so many bad decisions even evidence tempering. Specially if you live in Texas! LOL. But not this one. Police as nothing to fear, they followed leads.

How sad the way we treated our Veteran Ray Jennings. I bought a nice truck for my son when he was very young & made it very CLEAR to him NEVER put up a fight if somebody tries to steal it; that HIS life was more valuable than the truck. The victim's father obviously is placing misguided ANGER because he FAILED to tell his daughter that SHE was MORE precious than the truck. It is easy for him to blame our Veteran instead of accepting his part of the blame.

As I see it, the father most likely did not have a military background. I was married to a Nam Vet that was able to gather detailed information in seconds, just like Mr. Jennings. It was instant life or death for combat Vets. They gathered detailed information in seconds in order to stay alive just like Mr. Jennings did that night. My husband’s ability to size up situations and gather details instantly was now a part of him even after he came home. He saw things I never paid any attention to. I was always amazed by this ability. It’s sad that the police department, his attorney, the public, or other Vets did not come to bat for Mr. Jennings early on. When I heard him give the details that he did to the police and then what he said in court about being an innocent man, I heard a military man giving incredible details and a totally innocent man stating that he was going to prison the innocent man that he is. No question. The victim’s father is angry, grieving and probably blames himself for having not been there to help his precious daughter. Grieving takes time. I hope he is also able to forgive himself for blaming Mr. Jennings in the future. Thank goodness Mr. Jennings is a true man and can allow the victim’s father to have his time being angry at the wrong person.

I would have never put the security guard in jail. It was obviously a car jacking that was not successful due to the fact she fought him.
@AnyoneCanSee Жыл бұрын
Yep, the only thing he is guilty of is trying to help too much and speculating about what occurred. You don't need to be a genius to speculate that she attempted to drive away and they shot her and so she crashed. Anyone could see that at a glance. At one point the father says, "he knew too much for a minimum wage security guard" and then later says, "why didn't he immediately give assistance, it makes no sense for a trained infantryman". So he's too dumb to put two and together and simultaneously too highly trained not to save her life. The father just wants someone to pay and I am certain the jury has seen the father in local media.

The 2nd story is just another example of why you should never be so candid with police. Detectives "Tell us the order in which you THINK she was shot. Of course we know you didn't do it! but a different perspective is always helpful." 👀 You can see he's a young guy just working security to make a living, a veteran already, still riding the adrenaline rush of what just happened and he was prob impressed by the detectives, trying to help as much as he could, not even realizing the grave he was inadvertently digging for himself.

Look at OJ Simpson: Free from murdering his ex and her friend at the doorsteps of her house just because a shrinked glove didn't fit his hand - or so he clamed. Public oppinion pressuring the media of his innocence. Why? Because he was a black guy. Therefore he was being persecuted for his color. Years go by and probably many have realized the book he wanted to publish "IF I did it", didn't needed the IF on it. The true injustice of this case was and still is to NICOLE, a victim of OJ's domestic violance during her marrage to him that finally had break away and her FRIEND, got brutally murdered and that got almost forgotten. It was all about freeing or not freeing OJ. So this narcisist continued to steal the spotlight.
