I've loved the Young Fathers for years now. They just jack me up. Greatest band. They're avant-garde as hell, they're doing what hasn't been done before, but they don't neglect the hooks. This group knows Rockinroll. More importantly, this is the end state that I want to see in my lifetime - exquisite ephemeral interracial pop music that elevates. I worked in Liberia for two years; the fact that Alloysious Massaquoi is Liberian? That motivates me. I love that country. Jesus Christ, I love the Young Fathers. They're doing what nobody else can.

New Young Fathers! I found these guys 9 years ago and have been a fan ever since. Something about the dark, haunting nature of their music resonates with me so deeply. Really nice guys too, I’ve seen every show they’ve done in Chicago, back when they were opening for Baths, and got to chat with them a few times. The KEXP performances are top notch. Beautiful! I love the mix of images that seem to mix so well with the celebration commemoration that comes through in the lyric. This is break out music.
