Amazing, so much energy. I'm 71 and only discovered this group yesterday. Love them. Thanks.

One of the best Later with Jools Holland performances ever. I love how they perform like their lives depend on it. 🙂
@rickdee7179 Жыл бұрын
Every year the BBC haters tell us it’s time ‘Later with Jools Holland’ has run its course and its time it was put out to pasture. As long as they continue to introduce bands such as this,and who then perform a stunning live performance, then long may Jools continue. The ONLY live music show on terrestrial UK tv, every season several performers manage to build on an appearance on the show. It also gives many a chance to check out music they may have never come across. The show is so eclectic - thank you for this amazing performance and band.
@thecyclingshepherd Жыл бұрын
If it really is the ONLY live music show, that's genuinely terrible. I have not seen a full programme - or any UK TV - for several years (left England after that ridiculous brexit thing), but my memory is that it picked up on already happening artists and really well-established ones, plus there was always one act who turned out to be friends of a friend of Jools, and we've never heard of them since. I have seen that Jools has just subjected Wreckless Eric to that "You can play your classic song, but only if I tinkle on the ivories and simper in the background" ploy. Travesty. Shame on you Jools - and commiserations to Eric. Young Fathers rock, of course!

I keep seeing comments saying they're under rated. BY WHO? who doesn't rate them? Every review I've ever heard or read is positive.
@Aoife136 жыл бұрын
Reviews are only one (small) measure of a band's success. I saw Young Fathers live recently in a tiny venue and the tickets didn't even sell out until the week of the show. They deserve to be playing much bigger venues with much bigger audiences. They should have been on Jools years ago as well.
@SamOwenI6 жыл бұрын
Aoife they won the Mercury Prize, which is as prestigious as recognition from critics gets in the UK. That said, I don't think they really appeal to the mainstream. They are rather indie.
@MajorMumwett6 жыл бұрын
+SamOwenI exactly. I don't want them to play every song in middle C, every song to be exactly 3:00 mins for the radio, every song talking about relationship break ups. I don't want to see them on the BBC big weekend or the One Show or for the to have 150 million hits on youtube. Fuck that. There's enough Rhianna and Beiber clones for that crap. Let them carry on doing what they're doing. Anybody who knows anything about proper music rates them.
