Thank you! I didn't expect you to react to all of those, but so glad you did! "Never Not" just really hits the heart for sure. Lauv is a pretty great songwriter (and singer). For funzies, check out the original of Hudson Thames's "Last Call" to see how much Young K and Wonpil changed the lyrics, haha. And yeah, cause LUCY. Oh, the guitarist in Last Call (Kiyoon Kim) is the one that accompanies Young K in like almost all of his covers iirc. About all I know. Keyboardist in "Never Not" is a different guy I think though. My favorite thing about all of the (non-Day6) collabs that Young K has done in the Young One series is that he really lets the other artists be highlighted. Mostly, they are artists that don't have as much notoriety as he does but he lets them shine. He doesn't treat them like they are just backup for him, it's more like they are the focus and he is just backing them up. Love that.

True K-Bands has their own bond.. probably because they know it's hard to be popular as a band in korea so they naturally support and root for each other.. YoungK is a DJ in a national radio show right now called "Day6 Kiss the Radio" or Dekira and he gives a day in a week where Kbands (hoppipolla, lucy, onewe) take turns every Thursday to come as a guest and promote themselves.. he is so supportive, his Young One project is also a platform for other artists to show their qualities, I really love his personality so much.. also the one who choose the song is the artist he collab with, he gave them the freedom to choose the song.. YoungK is so precious :"

wonpil has actually recommended "last call" in his pil-aylist before and he said that it reminds him of his members because of the overall vibes and the chorus singing. for youngk to invite wonpil in this young one was such a great idea, and they looked like they had so much fun filming it! 🥺💙

(I feel like I always write paragraphs when I comment on your videos, so here's another one lol.) YoungK is hands-down my favorite singer -- period. And one reason I love his voice so much is how versatile it is. He can blend beautifully with literally anyone, and he makes those high notes sound so effortless, and he conveys so much emotion through it. In terms of songs that are just so achingly sad you can feel it every time you listen, I definitely recommend his original song "Alone in this World." He released it on the DAY6 KZbin channel featuring a female singer (whose name I'm blanking on...). The lyrics, the music, their voices, everything just breaks my heart. I'm glad you reacted to these three YoungOne songs, because they're among my favorites and I think they showcase a nice wide range -- from sad and sentimental to insanely happy. And this Maniac cover got me into Lucy, who are now becoming one of my favorite groups too! Definitely check out their other music if you have the chance. I also love seeing these Kbands interact. YoungK actually chose to have three bands (Lucy, Onewe, and Hoppipolla) rotate every week as fixed guests on his radio show, and it's great to see him act as a kind of mentor to them.

Looks like Never Not snuck under my radar, this was my first time seeing it. If I'd known it was with a Hoppipolla vocalist it never would have snuck by! There's something about Hyunsang that's so interesting to watch. I don't know their stuff well but he seems so reserved when he performs. And somehow his anti-charisma is super engaging. It feels like the whole world falls away for him when he sings -- like it's just him and the song. Maybe he doesn't do that for all performances but for the ones I've seen it's been really cool to witness.

The guitarist is the one in all of the Young One videos. He's one of their band technicians. Keyboard guy is different, but he's likely on their staff too. These videos are yeah... Kinda DIY. Young K posts behind the scenes on his Instagram, and you can see he even helps set up equipment. Looks like they just have a handful of staff doing these. Please watch his "Run With Me" cover, which he does with another band with older members called Daybreak. And his new one of "Imagine". They're heartbreakingly good. Oh everyone already mentioned the 3 bands rotating as guests in Young K's radio show. They also made the bands cover each others' songs. Those were so good.

Young K uploads these the 7th and 19th every month, so there's always new ones coming. I would love for you to react to more of them since they're all absolutely incredible! Oh no my eyes are watery 😭💝 Young K's cover of "Never Not" with Ha Hyunsang is just way too beautiful and something about it made me get emotional stoppp 🤧💓 I'm back to continue watching this video and freak why do I tear up so much when listening to music wth XD My tears welled up in the corners of my eyes while listening to Wonpil's and Young K's cover OMGGG!! It was such a fun song but their voices are just so darn good!!! 💖 Wow and I never really cared about that cover that LUCY and Young K did before, but hearing it this time, I liked it quite a lot!! I guess it was one of those cases where I just needed to give it a couple more listens to truly enjoy it!

Thank you for these! ❤️ Since you're checking out Young K's solo stuff, I also recommend his demos! They're all uploaded on the DAY6 channel too and I think you'll like Text Me Now and Greatest. 😊 According to him, those demos were supposed to be for DAY6, but they were denied/not confirmed for their albums, probably because they have a different sound from what the company wants them to put out for a certain release. So, he re-recorded them and uploaded them so that we could hear how they sound like. Still, it showcases Young K's musical writing prowess and his wonderful vocals (that we can never get enough of) and they are GREAT songs!

Youngk had dropped a hint that he was gonna cover Never Not & I looked it up & felt disappointed, like meh ok. Then I heard this cover and my heart got destroyed. I feel like they brought so much depth out of this that Lauv didn’t 😳 (BTW everything about this video is a classic example of why I love your reactions.) the guitar dude in the Youngone vids is a Day6 guitar tech (Kiyoon Kim, as mentioned already) who YK tapped to accompany him on gtr for season 1 of Youngone (his covers project) during the European leg of last years Gravity tour. He literally does GD’S WORK!!

Long comment ahead! I started watching your channel for NCT reactions but I stumbled upon this video and ended up watching all of your Day6 reactions. I totally get your commentary because I also grew up with the same music. I have a few suggestions/requests on music you could react to: 1. my personal holy trinity of day6 sad boi b-sides: goodbye winter, like a flowing wind, and afraid (bonus: afraid demo by sungjin for xtra pain) 2. K-band Hoppipolla (Hyungsang, the lead singer is the dude with YoungK in the Never Not cover) songs Your Ocean, Enough, and their cover of Linkin Park's One More Light (this wrecked me). 3. K-indie band Dasutt and their songs Youth and Like a Sea are my favorites. I actually found out about them through NCT Taeyong's vlive. Man's got excellent taste.
