I know in the USA that lots of companies are putting out ghost ads for jobs, and it can make the already time and energy consuming job looking process even more frustrating. Also many jobs in the USA are advertising salaries/pay rates that don’t even cover half of the costs of living. Entry level jobs are requiring x amounts of years of experience and masters degrees but are paying between $20,000 and $40,000 which is ridiculous. Entry level jobs should be entry level. If you are going to require people to have years of experience and/or masters degrees or higher then pay them appropriately.

Or, they are looking to contract out, outsource, and off-shore their hiring needs so that they can pay people a third or less of local wages and not have to worry about offering benefits. The social contract is broken. Companies are not holding up their end of the bargain. Not just koreans. 18 to 24 year olds in the UK, USA, Canada, Japan, India and Germany. Corporations have forgotten about their employees while focusing on increasing profits every year. We have to undergo a very strict and hard interview process for a job that barely pays our bills. Its easier for the governments to say that we need to upskill ourselves or to look for diverse working opportunities. Even though it’s the medical field and there were jobs almost all of them wanted prior experience (or were so far away that gas would’ve eaten half my pay at minimum and would’ve been nearly impossible if I didn’t have my old car). Even entry level. I was like how can I get experience if I don’t get hired? I had to take a job that wasn’t in my field and work for less than half of the entry pay for the job I should’ve been able to get out of college. I went to college and got a degree where jobs were because it’s always “we have a shortage” and that shortage has been there for decades. I luckily had a family friend who took mercy on me and offered me a job that allowed me to gain experience but I didn’t have a stable position or income and no benefits. It took a while before I landed a full time job elsewhere and have been there for years but I’m not happy with management BUT I know it can be worse, I’m lucky to have this stability and not many places are even close to the standards where I work.
