i'm a girl with this problem. guys find me attractive looking, but then my aspergers, adhd, anxiety and depression makes it really difficult for me having a relationship. I just need to find someone like me. I like this film a lot too. it gives me hope that I might have a job soon too. and I love horses !

Logan dunn, this is interesting. I will be asking this kind of question to my friends. And they could ask that question. But I won't use "do you" Christine H, you just didn't found the right one yet. Guys just don't really understand. Just because you have aspergers and adhd. You can use those skills and find a job. I mean volunteer job first.

@Stephen Murphy I get what you are saying and I agree with you. Horses, and animals in general, are incredible in how they see into a person's heart and can read the soul. Please reconsider how you view "weirdness" in general though. I understand that you mean "not good". Weird, in general, is good though. Weird can be funny, it can simply be different or not THE normal. "Normal" isn't even necessarily representative of 50% of the population, it's just a representation of the largest group. I'm weird, but I'm also good, kind, compassionate, caring, and animals naturally feel comfortable with and drawn to me, even wild animals. My best to you and wishes that you are able to continue spending your life with horses.

I myself was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome when I was in the pre-teens in the mid/late 90's when it wasn't well known so it made self-acceptance and coming to terms with it more difficult. Due to my problems I also found it awkward to be in crowded places, and there were times I just preferred being alone than being with people. I started working as a Support Worker in late 2017 and most of the people who I've helped support are on the Autistic spectrum. One of the plus-sides about my disability is that I'm able to use my own experiences to help the people I support and I can communicate and empathise with them on those sort of levels. I'm 35 now and am learning how to use my Asperger's as a means of helping others in similar positions

I teach preschool. We are supposed to be providing special needs services and identifying those who may need them. The problem is that we are spread very thin. In my class of 20, there are 5 with speech IEPs. Several other children need some sort of diagnosis, but it is hard to get them the services they need for needs like autism or ODD, etc., because we don't have the support. The mental health and disabilities people start with the most severe. In the classroom, we try to do the one-on-one as much as we can, but I feel like a third person in the room would have to happen for us to be really successful, because there is that notion of putting out fires and then dealing with the more easygoing children after that. It's really sad.

This was the comment I can here to see. We may lack some neurotypical abilities. But we have abilities that the NT's don't. In most relationships, whatever they may be, I feel our abilities complete eachother. Rather than one being able and one disabled. It's about truly seeing eachother. ❤

Ashley Gray, yes ..... me and my kids are also Aspergers. We do say that we ARE Aspergers. Not that we have it. It is something that makes us and our personality. 😊 and yes, most of us Aspergers and with other forms of autism are such kind people. For us it is more importent to live in harmony. We hate how people can be so very mean .... we only want freedom, a good job, a family if possible. And silence when we get into a meltdown or shutdown. Maybe we do not say I love you all the day. Maybe we ar not compatible with so many other persons. But believe me: WHEN we love, it is the biggest thing for us. Most of the others do not understand the way we show love. And they do not understand that we hate bulling and angry and bad persons. Because there is NO reason to be bad ....

@@sar4665 That is a simply brilliant comment & I have copied it (with your YT name) to use in an article I am writing on 'the spectrum.' I really like that you choose to say you ARE Aspergers! I've known a number of Aspies in my life & you are the first one with THIS attitude--of Being Asperigers! LOVE it. Makes a lot of sense.

If I had to choose one hero from his story, it would be impossible. Mom, who never gives up on her babies. Pete, despite his initial feelings, who taught so much using so few words and saw Josh as a great, paid, part of his team. The invisible social worker, who coached with love and patience and wouldn’t take no for an answer. But Josh, with all your trust and hard work and sweetness and strength, you are the star of this show and my life is richer from observed it all. Thank you, Attitude! ♥️

Vince, was diagnosed myself at age 35. figured it out because my friend's son has aspergers. had struggled so much for so long without really knowing what was up. upon going online and reading up, was all "that's IT!". not much changed, yet everything changed. was quite happy to learn about it cos it solved a whole lot of mystery for me. it's less about acceptance, more about learning the best ways to take care of yourself, and generally work things to be more successful.

Vince Lowry I thought that Asperbergers took away emotion?
@EricQuesnel3D
@EricQuesnel3D 4 жыл бұрын
@@joncampos5551 No, emotion is intensely intact. If that was the case eye contact would be no problem, since it wouldn't be as disruptive internally. Reading, and expressing emotion's correctly is what's "taken away". People inherently have a harder time distinguishing the correct intentions of those on the Autistic spectrum because of it, which can have a lot of serious some times fatal consequences. It's a deficiency in the ability to correctly read micro-expressions, and output matching internal emotional micro-expressions that generally causes the breakdown in communication. It requires a significant amount of cognitive effort to make up for it in social situations, which leads to mental exhaustion. Without supports individuals will eventually regress, burnout, and isolate as a way of self preservation. Not something I would ever wish on anyone, even my worst enemy.

What an awesome story. My son is Asperger's as well and has had similar struggles. The problem was mainly at school with teachers not understanding or knowing how to engage. Any idiot can teach a normal child but it takes a real teacher to teach the children that are not normal. Some of my sons teachers incited student bullying to try and "make" him conform and it was only in year 10 - 11 that he has finally found himself. Aspies are beautiful people and all we need to do is look. Thanks for telling stories like this one to help everyone :-)

Sean sir .. i truly feel how you feel to what your son's wen thru in school .. me as an educator i am struggling for the welfare of the student in school yes thier r some teachers and students as well that are bastards (sorry about ) i always have differences frm.my collogues bcoz i am always at the side of the children wt like those aspies . Would u beleived that i m the only 1 in school who gives extra attention to them .. some just tend to just showy but not continues . 1 incident was that a teacher was so mad bcoz she said i am siding wt those who are not supposed to be n a regular school .I said that they still can be when we only give them an extra little time and understanding bcoz parents cant afford sending thier kids in a school intended for like wt aspies.

Absolutely clear that this helps people see the good and the beauty of the different, those with ASD. But it's easier when you focus on one who is so easy on the eyes. What about those who are less appealing, less handsome? We need to extend our compassion for and identification with these folks as well. So, thank you! and, it was an easy task.

Asperger's does not exist. It is even being removed from the 11th revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11). Unfortunately people just use it as an excuse of why they are socially awkward and with no as much social skills.
