This is Tom Petty from a solo album made in 1989. Most of his incredible career was with his band The Heartbreakers. They are legendary. Tom was one of the great rock songwriters and the band among the best in rock history. His rabbit hole is very deep and will bring you great joy. Unfortunately we lost Tom about 8 years ago. Great to see a young dude like yourself appreciate the music of yesteryear. You’re cultivating a greater understanding of what made the rock era so great, starting in the ‘60s.

This song was released in 1989, and was on his album Full Moon Fever. The video was filmed in my hometown of Los Angeles, at the Westside Pavillion, a mall that is no longer standing. Tom Petty is my rock and roll hero, because he WAS rock and roll. Any song of his you listen to will soothe your soul. Try some of his earlier songs from his album Damn the Torpedoes, Into the Great Wide Open- you'd enjoy the whole album, but listen to Learning to Fly, the first track from Into the Great Wide Open. The title track is also one of my favorites and features Johnny Depp- Captain Jack Sparrow. Highway Companion is probably my favorite album by Tom Petty, but you can't go wrong with any song you pick from his 40+ year catalog. Tom Petty Forever 💘
