If you like the vocalist, Laure le Prunenec, you should try listening to Corpo-Mente. It's a side project with her and other Igorrr members, less metal (no scream and almost no distortion). They have so beautiful songs and harmonies in that album (it's a one-shot thing, they wont make another), i think you would enjoy it

I am floored by this. I am one of those "old guys," a Boomer who believes that he has seen it all and there is little that can impress him. I have been proven wrong. This is absolutely incredible. I was hooked as soon at the intro. Yet another excellent reaction on your part. Well done, and thanks.

This was the first project to just blow my mind in a long time. Every album is so unique. Saw them live last year. Never thought waltzing with strangers in a mosh pit was something on my bucket list, but Igorrr recreated what I thought was possible that night. And that was only weeks after finally getting to see Mr. Bungle, which WAS on my bucket list for 25+ years.

I'm happy you liked this! "Ieud" is quite a shocker, which is why it's often suggested. Gautier Serre, the primary composer, has synesthesia, which he claims contributes to the way he composes music. The one I enjoy most is "Himalaya Massive Ritual". The secondary composer, Patrick, has sadly passed away a few years ago. Patrick is a chicken. Check out "Chicken Sonata" for his best contributions. The female singer in this video, Laure Le Prunenec, is a one of a kind progressive singer, best showcased in "Corpo Mente - Ort" I think. The male vocalist, Laurent Lunoir, has a crazy range in both clean and harsh vocals, as demonstrated in "Igorrr - Grosse Barbe". Another thing you should know about Igorrr, mainly because you partly picked up on it early on, is that the vocals are written in a made-up language. And while they do assign vague meaning to the words they invent, the purpose is to force the vocalists to express the emotional meaning through their singing, and screaming. Igorrr is worth a deep-dive!

I feel validated in my admiration of Laure Le Prunenec. If you like her you should also check out Corpo-Mente. The live studio video for Ort is a good one; it's more like a Radiohead song (in fact, the guitars sounds an awful lot like Exit Music (For A Film)).

ieuD is the verlan for Dieu, which means god in french. Verlan is a type of french slang that makes the words reversed ( verlan -> l'envers ). In english "mother" become "ther-mo", "father" "ther-fa" for example.

If you are interested in combining classical and operatic music with metal, I advise you to listen the genre of "Symphonic Death Metal". You can start with Fleshgod Apocalypse - Epilogue (a soft and light song by their standards) and continue with Violation (go all bad), or: Dimmu Borgir - progenies of the great apocalypse. This is... Experience. An incredible track, absolutely indescribable. Next - you can listen to Septicflesh - Vampire from Nazareth, this is one of the most famous representatives of the genre.
@RedHorseArcher4 ай бұрын
PS: and if you really like harpsichord - you must listen to Fleshgod Apocalypse - The Fool. This is not even symphonic metal, this is a full-fledged orchestral baroque metalocalypse.

@@endapian Although this track may sound like it, they are not a metal band. Their music is very a varied and even strange, there are humorous moments with twisted and gnarly episodes that are totally out of context, it is a very odd mix even beautiful at times. A new band including some members of the original band has evolved called Corpo-Menthe, an album is available called Arselien which is a little more accessible. Your eclectic taste mirrors mine, but my mirror is slightly cracked 😇😎🥴😂😂🤣🤪 I have consciously listened to music for almost seventy years, and try to give most things I come across a fair listen. Cheers from Wales.
