This is around the time he got signed. And I can certainly see why they signed him. So talented at such a young age. I'm so glad he's gotten healthy enough to enjoy the fruits of his labor and see the success he deserves, without a label!

I forget whether he was 19 or early 20s, but I believe it was around the time he got signed and then unfortunately very ill soon after. It’s a little bittersweet seeing this young man with all the hope and energy to go conquer the world when all that came crumbling down and put on pause for so many years spent in bed. But luckily he is a fighter who is now finally making those dreams reality and seeing his hard work pay off. Plus it always puts a smile on my face to watch Ren have so much fun ❤ Especially knowing that he didn’t lose that sense of humour 😂

This was GREAT. You have got to see, Trick The Fox playing live at the Adidas store in Manchester. There are at least 3 videos. That's right, Ren and the guys are playing while customers were shopping. I believe it was like a grand opening. Seriously check them out. ❤🤗❤

This is Ren before .... we know Ren after. I think either way he was going to be known. The difference I think is this young man would've been signed to a label and his music would've been much more mainstream. Trick The Fox started in 2008 -2009? So Ren would be 18 or 19 - at the same time he started experiencing symptoms. By 2012 Ren had to move home - his illness progressed. From the until 2015 he still has bits of music but it's sporadic. In 2015 he was diagnosed with Lyme and 2017 when Ren started busking with The Big Push.

00:33, nope, this is 22 year old Ren. He just looks young for his age because of his baby face and because his illness caused him to lose a lot of muscle mass between 19 and 21 years old. In this case, the video upload date of late May 2012 is spot on with when he and Charlie filmed this video. They discussed creating this song and video in their social media at the time. It was one of the first songs they released after they reformed their old band Trick the Fox. They had yet to reveal their new drummer, Tommy Frampton, so this and their previous song "Lost Boy" have no drum track. The first video that revealed Tommy was the one for their new arrangement of Ren's song "Run Away". In fall 2011, Ren and Charlie had finished recording about 20 tracks for Ren's solo album. In 2012 they decided to revive Trick the Fox and make it a band album. The old version of the band from 2010-2011 had 5 members - Ren (vocals), Charlie (bass), Chris (guitar), Jim (synth/keys), and Mike (percussion). The new version was a trio - Ren (vocals/guitar), Charlie (bass), and Tommy (drums). Unfortunately, Ren's health problems caused the album release to be put on hold. By July 2013, Ren's health hadn't improved, the band had split up, and the "Freckled Angels" album was still unfinished. Ren finally finished the album in 2015 and released it independently in December 2015, when he was 25.

I know what you mean that a lot of rappers are monitobe, or they are limited to a few flows ( is that the word I want ?). They don’t present it with thought put into besides Will it fit the flow I want to use. In one of the recent interviews Ren described that he hears rapping as like drumming, he’s not saying the words as words, he’s saying them to make a pattern and beat, the one the song needs.

Great point, all the little snot nose punks think they can just mumble some words and look for a label to sign them and after that comes crashing down, they want handouts. We have so many copy and paste "artists" out there that all sound the same and look the same with no talent. The labels push their crap because they have a "look" they want to exploit. I actually feel sorry for the kids being a little gear getting crushed by the massive machines.
